KZread is the best! 17 years later and this video is still helpful. I had an old Denon dual cd player and the drive belts deteriorated, which is common from old age. Tried to repair them and just gave up. Found 2 used CDJ1000MK3's and decided to purchase them just for home use to play cd's. This video was extremely helpful.

latops are always good for fileserving and song searching. it's always easier to bring a laptop then a whole case full of cds or a handful of thumbdrives.

Alla these negative comments you can disregard, I appreciate the time and effort taken to help others. Cheers DJ Proton

on cdk 1000s there is a similiar graphic i think but mostly you just have to listen through head phones and find the spot on the track, cue it, then mix it in

@gurke: i also have a Notebook setup, but i prefer to mix with the CDJ's, cause i dont want do take so much equipment around, and dont want to connect all the wires & Stuff on stage! moreover theres often no place on stage for to much equipment! ok, you have probably not so much features like live or traktor, but you have less stress!

This is a BRILLIANT quick look at the features of the deck. The hand signals help even amateurs like myself see what you're demonstrating. We have two of these at the club where I work; I never knew about most of the functions! Off to go play with them now! :-D

The 2 CDJ mark 3's come at about £1,000/$1,603 and a good mixer can be anywhere from £1,500/$2,404 to around £3,000/$4,809

Good job on the tutorial man. I still want some CDJ-1000mk2's (even though they're discontinued), because I have Serato Scratch Live, and there's no reason for buying the .mp3 function since I won't be using it, although I'd like to have the jog adjust.

i totally agree. virtual dj is a really cool program, however you def need turntables. now add turntables with a timecoded cd and virtual dj is def an option. Altough i personally like traktor scratch a lot better.

@friendofCHAKA depends on if your serious about becoming fluent in the dj market or if your a hobbyist dj. If you never intend to play in a pro club then learning on pioneer products is senseless. But if you aspire to play in clubs on the circuit someday then it would be a worthwhile investment as no real club invests in anything outside of Pioneer or Technics.

@nachoisone Yeah you can play with CD books thats not the problem. But normally you got your own laptop with you for the organizing of everything. I don't tell your music is on it but I do tell that thats the organizing part of your set up to make it straight. (:

i suggest you check that AUTOCUE IS ON. if it is off... then you must manually set cue points. if this is happening to both of your decks.. then this problem is more likely to be a settings issue rather than firmware or hardware.
