I’m just not a follower I’m just going to protect my family the best I can and provide what they need and that’s all I can do.

I'm afraid to talk to people about prepping. I have tried a couple times and they look at me like I'm crazy. I don't want people showing up at my door. It's so expensive to prep now I struggle to add extra food to my own pantry.

I live in a pretty remote area, and we still have weirdos out here. People who just show up and think they should be the "leader", yet have no skills, no capacity for reason, and are completely unprepared. They always talk about "community". I've seen it time and time again. So I'm always weary of people who talk about that stuff, because the rest of us don't talk about it, we just show up and help our neighbors.

The people in my community all have a good understanding that we leave each other alone but we don't hesitate to ask for help when it's absolutely necessary to. No one really bothers anybody because here in Michigan we tell it like it is and if you're an idiot we will let you know. So a lot of people try to just do their own thing unless it's absolutely very necessary to ask for help. I like it that way. It's very peaceful and you also have that piece of mind.

I've been out on my farm land for 10 years now. Lots of people stop by to be nosey. Lots of retired cops and such. I used to send Christmas cards EVERY year to the people that stopped by. Even would drop in and say hi to people. Only got Christmas cards back from two people. One was a handmade card from an older couple and the other was from the grumpy old retired welder from way down the dirt road. My Christmas card list got shorter and every year my wife and I hand deliver them now. You'd be surprised how many people just don't understand how important social skills are and community. All the retired law enforcement and military types are all living in a fantasy around me.

If more people pay attention to the spirit, then they would be able to have the decernment needed to see through the cults and bad groups. Use decernment thats why the father gave it to us

In my opinion accepting a posture of interdependency is a problem. Yes be careful or you could wake up disoriented with a big pump knott on the back of your head. I keep attempting to take your advice and build community in my neighborhood. My next door neighbor just has their first baby. I went over and said congrats and asked if it’s a boy or girl and what it’s name is. She said the baby is a girl and her name is Joanie. Then she said “We brought her home from the hospital on the Fourth of July and so from now on it will be Joanie holiday and NOT an America holiday.” These are the types of people I am surrounded by. My other neighbor teaches a class called “Native American sexuality for kids”. I mean, how can I work these people?

You need to be very careful. Small group and background check these people. Even clean people can Fk you over. Don’t join groups online or via other channels on YT or whatever. Bad people circle to look for easy targets.

If you want to see how difficult going at it alone, watch the ALONE series from the History channel. Its hard on them and they know that they can always go back to civilization and their family. Real life is not like MAD MAX. The ALONE series had several marines drop out due to them having difficulty dealing with the loneliness.

I have foundnout the hard way its best to avoid churces, especially catholic. People are low on energy and moat only know how to steal it from others then misuse that energy or claim it for the church or community.

Yeah its going to be a mess. This is why we all tolerate the Federal government while hating and fearing it. It's not that all people are awful. It's that consistently enough people are awful as to make self government unworkable.

The problem is a little more than what you're pointing out. Multi-decade decay of guiding principles, family units and social structure coupled with the capturing of public institutions is but the tip of the iceberg. Right now, there's a lot of confused people just trying to "get to high ground" and simply think that moving to another state (geographic solution) is all that's needed. It's a little more complicated...

Just bcuz there are mandatory for ammo or food.... or that they ask u to throw a large portion in the community pot, this by default doesn't make them a cult. Pastor Joe Fox requires this to be part of their community.... there is a community pot and if u leave u leave a large portion of ur share there. Ur allowed to have more provisions for yourself but the community pot is almost a donation for entry

I generally agree with you but I’m going to be “that guy,” and mention that just about anything-especially any religion-can be called a cult. Some cults make it mainstream and then become accepted as “normal.” But I get your point. It can be dangerous. My own personal motto or philosophy is to just not take anything too seriously. Teaming up and declaring yourself a messiah-or something akin to it-can certainly be considered taking thing too seriously.

Sounds like you're describing someone that alot of us know about. You do too, seen him at your meetings. The group lives together on a mountain in Arkansas. Have to buy land there to become a member. If you show up in the area with out approval from the leader you're greeted with guns. Twisted version of christianity. Sorry but why Torah observant? The new testament talks about why it's wrong and unnecessary for for christians to do this. Charismatic leader who lords over all in a passive agressive way. Do a youtube search and you'll find videos on this guy where people had a hard time being able to leave. Had to leave the land behind that they bought with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
