    Just to put into perspective carrying 6 boxes of this down into my basement took about 3 minutes flat !!!! Carrying the engineered hardwood took me 30 minutes. Even my wife helped, well with one box.....LOL

    EXACTLY what I was looking for as answer right here! @ 7:27 Thanks YOU nice lookin man! Your VERY WELL informed on this! Just picked up 2 boxes of this at Home Depot Sault Ontario to lay down in the Gazebo and I'm using LifeProof Luxury Locking Vinyl! I know I'll void warranties etc using it outside in a well sealed Gazebo however the simplicity of DriCore and Vinyl will produce amazing results not to forget the time and ease of install savings! PS your on the Manitou Island correct?

    Great video. Thank you. I’m converting my outdoor shed with concrete slab to a workshop. It gets very cold in winter so thinking of putting this down. I would like to put a nicer floor on top of it. Can you recommend what kind of floor to put on top of this product for outside? Thank you

    Hi Steve, do you need to use spacers to leave a gap for contraction/expansion ?, or is it not required for this kind of floor ?. Thanks and great video!

    I have purchased this already...plus, waterproof laminate flooring for basement. Hope to begin this week. QUESTION: Steve, would you use a felt underlay (like QuietWalk for example) on top of the Insul-Armor? Thanks Paul R.

    'Click' floating flooring over DRI-C , maybe, if your basement floor is close to dead level, if not you are likely to have oil canning or noticeable flexing.

    Could this be used on a concrete slab, then have cement board put over it, and then tile? We want to insulate the bathroom from the cold concrete without having to run heating under the tiles.

    Is it up to code? EPS is flammable, don't you need a sheet of plywood on top as a fire retarder in the code?

    Hi Steve. Great review and information. We will be framing new exterior basement walls in front of our block foundation. Should we put down insulation-armour first and then frame the wall on top? I’m thinking this would keep the base plate of the wall up and away from any moisture. Note- we will apply ridged foam on block wall before building the wall. Would love your thoughts. Scott in Petawawa, ON.

    Hello Scott, Yes, you can build your walls up on the Insul-Armor. Since you cannot walk across the uncovered installed Insul-Armor, this is the best method: Cut some Insul-Armor panels into 3” wide strips, the long way. Glue the strips to the bottom of your base plate so that when the framing goes up, the Insul-Armor strips are wedged between the concrete and base plates. Anchor your base plate through the Insul-Armor and into the concrete using the appropriate length concrete screws. Please maintain a ¼” perimeter gap to the foam covered foundation wall when installing with the Insul-Armor strips under your base plate.

    @@DRICOREProductsChannel thank you. Is there any timeframe for this product to be available? I’ve been wanting to buy it here in Canada for 6 months, but HD never has it in stock and are unable to get it. What are my other options to purchase it?

    @@DRICOREProductsChannel - w Why can’t you walk across the uncovered installed panels? That sentence in your response to the framing question doesn’t make sense. Please clarify that comment. Otherwise, the explanation of 3” strips under the bottom plate is clear. Just don’t understand why you can’t install this product across the entire floor, followed by foam panels on the walls then frame against those wall foam panels, directly in top of this product. Again, please clarify.

    We would not recommend dropping heavy objects on DRICORE Insul-armor. The compression strength is provided by the finished floor (minimum 5mm thick rigid core floating floor) distributing weight across the panels.

    Do you need to install an underlayment on top of the Dricore as a vapor barrier?

  • @MrBurgandy25

    @MrBurgandy25

    Does the cement slab have a plastic vapor barrier underneath? If not you can add something like radonseal+ or ionbond. If that's out of the price range you should put the insularmor wall to wall taping each seam, and then tape the insularmor to your foamboard wall insulation. This installation will create a vapor barrier that connects your floors to your wall. The subfloor should go up first, and your wall structure should sit on top of this. This will allow you to connect the floor foam to wall foam. It's a picky build spec but it creates one large vapor barrier from floor to wall.
