    I thought the supreme court in the usa were supposed to decide if law passed by a legislature is constitutional or not.

    +Joebob Biggins the USA supreme court is what you would call if you studied a ''kangaroo'' court. the US supreme court , hears only 7% of writs properly presented with valid current law. that is ''justice by lottery''

    There are many laws in the USA that are unconstitutional. The entire Family Code of every state is a good example--they base all decisions on the "best interest of the child," which is indefensibly vague and therefore a violation of due process (5th & 14th Amendments). Yet they persist, because the Constitution is just a scrap of paper. Judges ignore it if they wish, and they get away with doing so because there are no consequences. Corruption is epidemic in the American judiciary. Money rules everything.
