I'm not having this problem currently but I can see how maddening it would be to have it later and not know what's going on. THANK YOU again for another little valuable gem I can keep tucked away for the day when I have to bring it out, polish it up, and apply its wisdom to my personal f150.

Just repaired a 2013 decommissioned police F-150 , rear windows were disconnected at new and have never been used After installing the new window switches nothing worked . Almost every wire in the door boots was broken . I have seen the harnesses bad where you pointed out on the F-250 mostly but was surprised to see the door boot wires that bad on a 9 year old truck ! Most had been lots of law breakers in and out of the back lol

Fun facts Honda makes their wire sheathing out of soy based material that small creatures love to eat so Hondas TSB says to use a special electrical tape that Honda makes that’s really spicy prevents them from eating that spot that you repaired

That's weird. Usually across all brands, you will run across the wires breaking on the inside in time from all the opening and closing of the doors.

I know this video is old, but my problem started two days ago. I can push my lock down on my driver door and it will unlock with the button, key fob, and keypad, but no other doors unlock. Also, no doors will lock at all with anything. I hear a slight click under the passenger dash when I hit the lock button, but nothing happens. Any clues what this may be? 2017 F250 6.7

I wonder if you could fabricate a small steel bracket that would screw into the body (you’d have to drill a hole or two) and do the job of the plastic tabs to keep the connector from pulling away from the body?

I have a 2011 F150 XL truck that only has one key hole on the drivers side door. The key fob could no longer unlock but I was able to manually unlock it with the physical key. Now the key fob and the physical key can not unlock the door. I had someone check it out and they replaced the lock linear actuator. Now the door can’t be unlocked at all using the fob nor the physical key and I have to crawl in through the passenger’s door. Is there any way you can assist? Cheers

Let me add: I can unlock the door from the inside of the truck and open it. I just can’t unlock it from the outside. If I forget to leave the passenger’s side unlocked, I basically have to bust out my locksmith kit.

  • @phatbuddha1

Majority of the time, it would be the driver side door that has this problem. Unless the owner of this truck gets in/out using the rear drivers side door. The more you use it, the more it wears.

I'm glad Ford finally added plugs for each door. With the 11th gen trucks, the plug for the front doors is somewhere inside the dash. On my 2006 Ford F-150 I had to repair a few broken wires on the drivers side, inside that rubber boot a few years back, since the drivers side door is the most used, the constant opening and closing stress broke the wires. On a side note: Do you know any fix for the doors rattling in & out over bumps on an extended cab 2006 F-150?

So i have a question for you Boss. I have a 2014 GMC sierra 1500 5.3. Now i recently bought new oil and filter and did an oil change. I shouldve paid better attention to what i grabbed. Because i grabbed Pennzoil Platinum high mileage oil 0w20. But the thing is its not Dexos certified on the bottle. But the Api rating is Sp so it exceeds old oil at least. Should i worry and change my oil or should this be fine to run ?

@@FordBossMe well that was my main concern. Because i know it should exceeds dexos gen 1 and mines a 2014 but gen 2 start the following year. So i figured it should be fine. But i asked pennzoil and they said i should change it and get the approved oil with the dexos stamp. But i wasnt about to waste 45 dollars in oil lol.

Assuming you have a somewhat recent Ford vehicle, you program the actuators directly. Start with the window all the way up. Push the down button and hold it while the window goes all the way down. After it goes all the way down, keep your finger on the down button for at least 2 more seconds. Then immediately bring the window all the way back up and keep holding the button until it reaches the top. After a couple of seconds, let go. That will probably fix the issue. If it doesn't, try it a couple more times just to be sure you didn't make a mistake. If the above doesn't work, post with what kind of car you have. On some, you have to deprogram the actuator before you can perform the above procedure. Its usually something simple. I can look it up for you.

For 1 you didn't specify if you checked what I showed in this video? Here is what I want you to do Get in the car close the door Push button or key on but don't start just get the dash to light up Flash your brights 5x consecutive not super fast not super slow Then hit the brake pedal 3x Wait about 10sec and the battery light or check engine light will flash 3x or so Then turn the key off and get out of the truck Retry the handle again and if it is still doing the same thing then take it in to have it checked The driver door I was always under the impression just unlocked the driver door only until hitting it a second time and then they all unlock

Also every now and then the drivers door window wont roll up or down...shut the truck off pull the key out for a few seconds and restart the truck and it works just fine again. Another issue is now and then either the front or rear passanger door lock buttons wont pop up when you use the remote door locks you have to get inside the truck and pull hard on the interior door handle to pop the lock open.
