My rottweiler has had quite a few cases of severe wet eczema on his neck. He absolutely hates being shaved, so shaving his neck in order to treat the hot spots has proven quite a struggle. After going through the whole process of shaving, antibiotics, and applying ointments and flea-and-tick treatments several times over, I realized that it was being caused by the small play bites my german shepherd gives him during play when I'm not around to watch them. I've outfitted him with a large, thick leather collar to wear during the day that prevents her from getting at his neck, and so far the problem hasn't resurfaced.

I think the low life span is probably due to them being fixed too early. It's devastating for Rottweilers

Not the best breed for first time owners. Do not baby the dog being assertive and follow through with commands while being fair. Socialize the dog as much as you can. They are awesome dogs and will protect there people and property.

Obedience training and being responsible will take care of that. If your dog sees you as being fun to be around then it won’t run away. Things like tug of war with the dog is how that is instilled.

Ear infections...clean his or her ear..mine did that and I cleaned her ear and gave some antibiotics
