The 60s and 70s sucked balls. It wasn't until the 80s that music developed its sound. In fact, the 80s was a rebuke of the monotony and soulessness of previous generations. By the way, The Beatles sucked ass: I dare you to compare The Beatles - Yellow Submarine to The Commodores - Nightshift! I double dare you. Lol

@dynasty1910, the 60’s and 70’s had the greatest artists of all time and from every genre, from The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Lynard Skynard, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Barry White, Kool and the Gang, the Spinners, Carlos Santana, Sly and the family stone, Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Otis Redding, Donny Hathaway, Teddy Pendergrass, Al green, the Commodores ect. The 80’s didn’t produce anywhere NEAR that many legendary artists and even though i’m a child of the 80’s and like alot of the music from that era, much of it sounds incredibly dated with all the synthesizers.

The best Marvin Gaye song ever made that Marvin Gaye didn't create. This is on my top 5 from 80:ies. It wasn't an easy decade, but this was one of the lights in that famous tunnel. Just regret I could not see the Commodores live in some Champagne night club.

@RustySacks Probably Solid Gold. That's the one I remember most that came on in the 80's. I can't speak for everyone but in Sacramento it was American Bandstand in the afternoon and then Solid Gold in the evening on Saturdays when people were getting off of work.

Are they using a slapback effect when he says Marvin or are they actually saying it to create the effect?
