    An additional benefit of rotting palm tree logs is that in Sierra Leone farmers collect from them grubs which are considered quite delicious to eat.

    Fantastic! Congratulations my brother! I'm waiting for next week to hit the ground when the first set I planted will be exactly 6months. The leaves in my farm are still very much green. I will test harvest some that the leaves are going brownish gradually today.. Thank you my mentor!

    At least, how many roots are supposed to be on the yam after first harvest to let it not die but produce seed yam?

  • @Naturesheritagenetwork

    @Naturesheritagenetwork

    Very good question. At least 4 to 5 roots. But even if it is 2. But note that the More the better. Hence the need to approach the Tuber you want to milk from a particular angle so as to preserve more roots. Hope that helps.

    I use ridges for ware yams and ridges for seedyams. I tried ridges earlier for ware yams but they didn't do quite well compared to heaps
