    Hi, I really can't see what Jordan did wrong, as an old spark from the 1960's I never worked in a factory where you could isolate you had to work live. Our only isolation indicator was a neon screwdriver, I overcame my fear as a wee lad by working on live bus bars the length of the factory with only about an inch between each phase, no flash or eye protection that was the norm in those days, it looked perfectly safe to me plenty of space just needs not to get distracted when doing so.

I've wanted a pair but they're quite pricey, would be nice to get a view from a spark... maybe even do a 'tools for sparks' episode on it? Screwdrivers with trashed insulation become 'find a joist' bashers for downlight installs in our case... :) And kudos to your grandpa... I am not sure how it is in cambridge, with the university... but they have historic buildings... getting him to teach you MI might be worth a shot if he's still up to it. It's used in churches a lot

    A Wall Box Charger can cost around £500 but there is a £350 Gov grant to cover costs. Total cost minus the grant and added labour costs will able around £500. If you don’t drive that far like me I’ve got an outside 3pin plug instead and that’s much cheaper. 3pin charges about 7 miles per hour wall box will be about 30 miles per hour. Hope that helps.

    I suspect that frequent use of rapid charging for most EV’s is likely to reduce the service life of their traction batteries, so probably wise not to do it every day. Not only that, rapid charging might be less efficient, if more cooling is required during charging. Just paying to warm the air then.

  • @HenryLoenwind

    @HenryLoenwind

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@johnkeepin7527 With AC charging you're not even near 1C unless you're charging a hybrid with a dwarf battery. And it's slow charging that pisses away energy as all the electronics that need to be running don't use less energy if you charge slower. Up to half the energy that comes in can get wasted for just keeping the car "on" in extreme cases.
