Speaking of "life changing", your videos absolutely changed the way I speak to people and explain my emotional needs. You model it so well and I think I just naturally started to absorb it. It is absolutely a change for the best

You have made my world a better place. At the very least just knowing someone like you exists, gives me more faith in humanity. You are a thoughtful, reasonable, compassionate, kind, smart and just a generally decent human being. I learn a lot from you. Thank you.

I was so hoping he’d read your comment! Andrew was bombastic, but I thought he was a much better guy than the “fake” tears made him out to be. He was so kind and gracious to Nancy at the get-together dinner.

Tbh I have watched almost all your videos, and I sometimes find myself saying phrases that you use, or thinking to myself the way you talk 😅 and it has has a very big impact on how I communicate my feelings w my partner and other people in my life.

This channel has 100% changed how I see myself and others and helped me understand life, myself, my patterns. You are doing a great job!!!! I spent most of my life trying to explain to ppl, that my injuries are inside, and if they were outside and could be seen everybody around me would be freaking out trying to get me to an er , but because my injuries are inside and can’t b seen every body thinks I’m fine when I’m not , and a therapist is 100% in my opinion equal to any other dr that can save your life , but better because you see what they don’t what we even don’t!!!

I totally understand the Prima Donna comment, let me start with English is not my native language, for years I heard the phrase “dog-eat-dog world” thinking they were saying “doggie-dog-world (I thought it was a cutesy way to say the world is a wild place)😅, up until I saw it written down in the comment section of a random instagram post, my mind was blown and after investigating the proper spelling of the phrase I was so very thankful I never used it before.

Hi Dr Honda.I was wondering if you would ever consider analyzing fictional shows that do a good job at telling stories in realistic ways.Euphoria and The last of us are are good examples.I find your wisdom to be incredibly compelling and would like to see it take on different situations.

I was wondering this too! I'd love to hear his thoughts on Succession... they even have a family therapy scene. I love the characters but they seem so complex and would love Dr Honda's POV on them. I think it would generate a lot of YT traffic too!

Let's be honest, most people don't seem to provide "context" in that way when apologizing. They barely get past saying sorry in a not-so-sorry tone before they launch into an explanation of why they were basically right to do what they did. Very few people were actually taught how to explain in a good way

Your explanation of prima donna is exactly correct. The prima donna is the lead soprano in the opera. Typically, their off stage behaviour was that of a demanding diva but it was tolerated because of their box office draw.

I used to be a companion to an elderly prima ballerina. That was definitely not boring. She alternately charmed or frightened people and you never knew what might happen next. She terrorized the employees in the local bank, shops and restaurants.

18:40 Thank you so much for both the question and the answer! I’m in the same boat here. I can tell you there are people that do not want any explanation whatsoever. LOL! For me, it just feels insufficient to say “sorry.” The parenting example you provided was very helpful.

Hmm, I think he used the eye drops to fake tears. He says "is it ok that I'm doing this" and the producer is like "if your eyes are hurting you, sure" or something like that. OR Imagine the producer's dialogue is ADR and it's a complete set-up. That would be pretty diabolical lol.
