How do you manage the drool?

I was convinced that my Newfie could defy gravity. When she didn’t want to move, she would stick herself to the floor and there was no moving her. She died at the end of May and I miss her every day.

Our girl, Nada Bear is extremely stubborn. She is a very sweet girl but oh my goodness...if she doesn’t want to do something she sets all four paws and just stares at me. That when my husband steps forward and uses his “dad” voice....then she cooperates. We always say...”why do you make us use our serious voices Nada Bear? We don’t like to use our serious voice!”! She is our first girl, we have had boys and they were so easygoing. She is very intelligent, learns quickly and loves to play. I love her to bits. 😊🐾🐾💕

Our dog is probably the most stubborn dog I've ever known. I mean, all I have to do is play with him for 5 minutes and he'll take 5 hour long naps.

My pup is a very smart and well-behaved girl but she's now starting to use stubborness to get out of doing things (she just turned 9 months old). I do my best to use verbal encouragement or food to lure her if it's available, but when it comes to things she has to do, there's simply no getting out of it. There's a lot of good to be had out of life, but if we don't follow the neccessary rules and routines, we wont be able to have as much access to all the fun. 😅

I also have a Newfoundland, and he is equally stubborn. He's terrified of the scale at the vet. He has literally GROWLED at me to try to get out of using the scale.

My dog Daisy, is a mutt, and so stubborn. She knows how to do tricks, but when I try to bribe her she just try’s to steal it. My other dog always gets the treats because he does tricks, and daisy gets like 1 because I feel bad. She never learned her lesson.

I have figured out that a lead behind the legs, like we do for stubborn horses with the head halter works wonders. This has saved me tons of frustration getting Newt in the tub at tractor supply, previous to this way I would have to bring a couple friends recruit a few employees and several bystanders to get him in the tub

You just gotta love the Newfies!!❤ I would probably not call my dog stubborn. I just adopted him a month ago after my Merlin passed. Simon was abused, and neglected and it shows in his behavior. It's a long road, but he and I need each other. Oh and he's adorable!!

Hahahhaha I have a bernedoodle, having Bernese Mountain Dog makes him really stubborn, he will drop dead on the floor of he won't move or do somethin, glad I have to deal with a 50lbs mixed Bernedoodle, and not 110 lbs Bernese.

Yeah that's my Newt I'm 110 lbs and in good physical condition I work a job that is lifting heavy things for eight hours and before work I work on a farm, Newt is a 150 lb boxer mastiff mix and he is not always in agreement with Mom as to which way to go. Head halters saved us both 😂😂😂❤❤❤😂😂😂 #LoveThoseGiantDogs

Omg I took a professional test I had to pay for to see which dog breed is best for me. This was the breed. I’ve never heard of it. But it fit all my criteria! Honestly, this breed reminds me of ME 💯 percent wow! I’ve had nothing but cats. Pure breeds Persian, my current cat is a Ragdoll Breed. I’m laughing so hard! I want a dog sooo bad I just don’t know what to get. I want them all! So I took the test. The Newfoundland was the number 1 how funny! I’m gonna learn more about this breed of course.

I had a 180 pound Newfy, this little guy is no 213 pounds. He's maybe between 120-140 pounds, it's pretty hard to tell from how long his hair is.

True. 210 pounds would be extremely overweight for a newfy.

How did you get her to move?

I've had 5 different Newfie's, ranging from 130 to 190 lbs. This big fluffy guy is more like 140 lbs. Not close to 213 lbs.

Newfs aren't stubborn. They just send the hard decisions up to committee, and get back to you after the committee has rendered as opinion.

I have a really stubborn dog. Thing is if you tried to make him move like that he is going to snap at you cause he starts getting scared. And no he was never abused. He is just a total douche.

Although not common some newfies can be well over 200 lbs.. the current record is 260

I’ve seen one that was 200, giant. Bad part is. I want one but I can’t tell how big she’s gonna get when I get a puppy. Yes I can kinda judge how big she’ll get from her parents but I don’t want a 200 pound dogbear thing🤣

If your dog is that stubborn it means he hasn't been trained properly. I have a 10 month old Newf, and I've been working with him (with the help of a professional trainer) to teach him that even though he weighs more than me I'm the one in charge. Ichinojo will never refuse to move when I pull on his leash.
