    Isn't Dan Quinn the same guy who coached Cowboys' playoff game loss vs Packers? He went on at least 3 video interviews with different teams for HC job during that week when Cowboys lost. Cowboys D played terribly and he was clearly distracted in that week. Not sure why he has to interview the job during that crucial week for Cowboys?

  • @ugosmith7529

    We're not talking about Quinn right now are we? This conversation was about Parsons throwing everyone under the bus instead of taking accountability when he had his worst performance of the season. Was Quinn distracted? Possibly, but that does not excuse that Micah played like hot garbage and is acting like a cancer just so he can avoid admitting he played like trash.

  • @stewartmillen7708

    @stewartmillen7708

    @@ugosmith7529 Rex Ryan disagrees. Under Quinn (and maybe this is the Jimmy Johnson heritage) in that playoff loss they played brain-dead defense. Despite Green Bay eating them alive on their very first drive, Rex pointed out that Quinn MADE NO ADJUSTMENTS. Contrast this to say, Tom Landry. I remember the opening game of the 1985 season, hosting Washington. Washington got the ball, and gashed the right side (Randy White and Jim Jeffcoat and crew) with Riggins on three strait plays, running for like 25 years and two first downs. Then Landry called a time out. The Cowboys tweaked their D, and the next running plays got STUFFED. It's like they were telling Washington "we're not going to let you do this to us". That's real coaching, contrasted to berating the players to "PLAY HARDER" and not making any tweaks.

    @@stewartmillen7708 stop bringing Quinn's game plan in a discussion about Micah Parsons' play. They are not mutually exclusive, Quinn can have a bad game plan all the while Micah plays a terrible game. One does not excuse the other so stop making excuses for Parsons. Are you trying to argue that Micah played a great game?

  • @stewartmillen7708

    @stewartmillen7708

    3 ай бұрын

    @@ugosmith7529 The easiest way to make good players look awful is to have them play in a bad or inappropriate scheme. It's not just a matter of Parsons, who exactly on the D looked good that day? Good schemes can make average players look great; bad schemes usually make talented players look awful. Not everyone anticipates the game plan or scheme of their opponent, which is why you have to be flexible and be willing and able to make tweaks. That has been a problem with Dallas, this isn't the first time I've heard other coaches on ESPN laugh at the inflexibility of Dallas's coaching. Nor has this been the first time that a Kyle Shanahan-style offense (which is what Green Bay hit Dallas with that day) made Quinn's defense look bad---and look bad despite not having the talents like Deebo, McCafferty, and Aiyuk on the field. And it may be that Dallas doesn't draft smart enough players to play more than basic schemes. Tim Nolan's defense required more 'thinking', but looked awful on the field in 2020 as it looked like most of Dallas's players were lost in his scheme (i.e. missing overages and gaps). Maybe they aren't smart enough to play more complicated defenses. As I said, this goes ultimately back to Jimmy Johnson. I've seen his defensive playbook, it's only 40-some pages long, and it's based on very simple schemes and sticking with them despite what the opponent plays, relying on out-talenting the opposition to succeed (like U Miami beating East Carolina). And the players don't have to be particularly smart to play them. But gues what? With the salary cap and free agency, no one can amass that level of talent anymore; not even Jimmy in Miami.

    OK, hear me out. We trade Micah and get 2 maybe 3 1st round picks fill all the holes and get it done. Getting a new head coach changing the philosophy would be kind of a minor said back. So maybe just hiring ADC would be the best route to Go the Question Is Who?BB? MV? RR? I highly doubt we would get those names due to the fact. I don't think they would wanna be ADC. When they've been ahead coach Signing, that will definitely set us back but if we don't sign him, it will set us back significantly, so it's kind of a rough patch for Douglas. Anyway slice it
