Comic Book Effects in Photoshop! (Speed Tutorial)
In this video, we'll rocket through the process of turning photos into comic-book-style illustrations in Adobe Photoshop. I though it would be fun to make a video you can finish before your burrito gets out of the microwave - to follow along, it might be easier to watch the video, then check out the written step by step blog-post, linked below. Thanks for watching!

Hey everyone! I know the quick format is tough to follow step by step... You can also find the written steps here: texturelabs.org/tutorials/comic-book-fx-from-photos-in-photoshop/

The quick format is not hard to follow at all! Hard to follow videos have no voice to focus our attention...then you can't see where the action is. Hard to follow videos waste our valuable time with self promotion and hackneyed repeated attempts telling us to click the subscribe button. People subscribe when the content is real. You get right to business from start to finish. Who wouldn't subscribe to your videos as they are chocked full of great stuff! Don't stop! You freely offer your techniques that work. I earn my living with Illustrator and Photoshop. You help me become better at what I do. Thank you!

Dude this tutorial was next-level. No filler, all killer. You are amazing bro!
Pro tutorials for pro users. Gold. No wasted time, no schlock, no pandering. We need this kind of presentation thrown in the mix. Thanks!!
Well, that was quick. Definitely love how you broke down each step and made them bite sizable. I absolutely love how you use the blending mode and combine the filters to create something quite unique.
I've been doing Photoshop for years and understand all of these processes, I appreciate a no-nonsense way of doing tutorials.
There are loads of KZread tutorials on how to make this "Comic Book Effect". But this is by far the best one I have come across. Awesome!
This is phenomenal.Easily one of the best photoshop tutorials out on the web to date. Cheers to you boss.
This tutorial is absolute gold. One of the best (automated) photoshop comic effects. Pro tip: Make a copy of the ps-file and replace the smart objects. Like that you can easily apply the effect on any photo quick and fast.

OMG. Love the fast format editing! This is how all tutorials should be edited.
Great tutorial! So easy explained and the effect is incredible, the best of all fos comics effect 🔥
Amazing... I searched for several actions on the internet to generate this effect and none left as impressive as the result obtained with this tutorial. Thank you very much.
I wish there was a SUPER LIKE button that I could press... AMAZING TUTORIAL braidy. I have made over 350 tutorials in life so I can say with great confidanace that this is one of the best tutorial videos I have seen in my life. LOVE IT!
Quick format is amazing. I want a dozen of these! Superbly executed in every way.
I love this! I'm totally gonna make my kiddo his own comic book cover!! Thanks so much for creating this video and sharing your assets with us all!!!
Just discovered your channel. I make educational for kids across the nation. I love how you get right into it, and not talk about what you had for breakfast or your trip to Home Depot. I have been in production for 30 years. Your team rules. Thanks again. Love you.

😂the talk about your trip part got me. KZread videos need to get the train moving. Tutorials should remain tutorials and vlogs need to remain vlogs..
Best photoshop tutorial I've ever seen!! and I've watched way too many tutorials in my life, keep up the amazing work!
With photoshop, there are at least 4-5 ways to achieve the "same" output. I really appreciate how your videos find the most effective way to get the style that many digital artists seek. I'll be exploring this technique for sure!
Wish there are more tutorial like this, quick and straight to the point. Definitely love this!
Love this concept of speed tutorial, makes it way easier to watch the whole process without taking much of my time and then if I need to recriate it I can come back later and pause when necessary! The effect is also pretty cool too!

@@Texturelabs Just want to chime in as a desenting voice (and 1 of your Patrons). I prefer tutorials where you take your time and explain things. Now I am newer to PS so maybe more experiences users would feel fine with speedier videos. In general though I prefer a videos that are more like your typical speed. Just wanted to let you know **some** of us have an attention span longer than a tictoc video. ;) However I also wanted to mention I appreciate that you gave step by step **written** instructions on your website. That is very much appreciated, especially with the video speed. Perhaps worth copying that to the description (or at least linking it) for those that don't know about your site. Thanks for all your awesome videos and textures!

I agree, somewhat. It's a bit too quick. But I like a condensed tutorial in general.
WOW. I've done this several times by hand, just digital-painting on top of photos with my ipad pencil; this would have saved so many hours. Love this channel!
DAMN! Thank you! Been experimenting on this for years and my workflow was time-consuming. This is the best one for this effect!
Thank you for not wasting your viewers' time. Most tutorials strain 2 minutes of content into 12 minutes of video, and are just a chore to get through. Great effects, cleanly and efficiently presented. That's why I subscribed. Cheers :)

Unreal quality. Learned so much! Thank you sir, have a wonderful day

Thanks Andrew! Nice, I've got something similar I'm working on that mixes the cutout effect in there. It's a great effect, wish it had more options... But it works great when you feed it solid blacks and whites
