I have a question. How do you go about planning layouts and spacing for each room? I struggle with that so much.

I would suggest putting a bed or couch down and drawing the walls around to see what makes sense for the room size you want, use the furniture to measure for room size =)

how do you turn the cabinets sideways in the dresser in the master bedroom and underneath the bed in the kids bedroom?

Those were made by SurfChicCreation and is gallery art, you need to get it from the gallery. =)
