My condolences over the loss of your son and my prayer that God will help you through the grieving process which is a natural process. Unfortunately, sometimes, in not knowing what to say to people who are dealing with loss, the things that are said, yes, would have been better off silenced.

People want to comfort grieving family/friends and not being the one who is suffering severe heartache, those that have passed pictured in Heaven is the ONLY thing that comforts themselves, it doesn't help those that their world has been turned upside down, already missing them so immensely that no words can bring comfort. Hug them, let them know if they need anything you're there for them and if ever in need to talk, cry, scream or let anger out, call you. Visit after a day or two. Bring a meal, wash dishes, tidy up, sit and have coffee and listen. Share fond memories and cry with them. This will soon pass😢

jmo I needed this today. Yesterday my niece found out that she has cancer. Cant imagine my sister's worry, or the rest of their family's burden. For many years I've tried to teach them God alone should be worshipped, but ive been told they also pray to Mary and other dead "saints" (the forbidden practice in God's Word of necromancy) and they will never give up praying to them. In the past my niece has also resorted to visiting fortune tellers and she's fascinated by horror movies I'm at a loss for words of consolation now. If I tell them to pray to Jesus, and He heals them, will they also thank Mary & other "saints"? Will she resort to a fortune teller now about her disease? All of those are open doors to the enemy of our souls. But they have refused to listen. Now they called me for prayer. Now what do I tell them?
