"I tell you what, if we ever meet each other somewhere in infinity, you can apologize to me and tell me you were wrong." Merle's rawest line, quite possibly the rawest in TAZ, and he's apparently nude the whole time.

Yeah like WTF? I almost started crying it was really messed up and Griffin was really getting into it and the silence from the other McElroy brothers really showed how serious the situation was and how much they got swept away in the narrative. Very good villain dialogue. I'm sure Griffin wrote that whole speech to go off of Merle's question which is why he kept trying to prompt it. It was really great. I'm gonna be sad once this podcast is done or when I don't get to binge watch and have to wait for the next episode

That must have been really hard to experience for the void fish at the bureau, hearing their family from their old home when they were a child now inside the thing that killed them all

You know...hearing John at the end... in a way, it kinda resonated with me. Since I was about 9, I've had those kinds of thoughts. I'd go to church, hear them speak of the glories of heaven, and eternity with God and while it sounded great, I'd find myself lying awake at night, my young brain trying to grasp the concept of eternity. You're happy... but there's no escape. No change. Eventually, the happiness would fade, turning into boredom, and eventually... madness. These kinds of thoughts kept me up at night... almost drove me into insanity on the spot. But eventually, I started to move past that dread. I'll admit, it wasn't easy, and I still fight that existential horror, but I've learned to combat it... create, and learn, not simply stagnate. It's an uphill battle, but it's what keeps me going. I guess what I'm saying is... John... GET ON MY LEVEL, YOU FUCKING SCRUB!!

Well and don't take this the wrong way but lots of people have these exact same thoughts. I know this cause myself and many of my friends have had the same train of thought. If you are being serious the thing is, the nature of heaven is eternal joy and love. It never gets boring, it never gets old, it's new every day. That's what heaven is, it transcends our experience of fleeting joy. It is an elevated existence that will never experience a state of being where there is no bliss, that is the very nature of heaven and anything else is no longer that. Imagine being able to explore a universe the size of the one we are in to experience new world and things beyond imagination. Then when you have experienced it all there is another universe and it is all new again. You remember and experience what you have seen and at the same time you experience the joy of discovery forever. That's what heaven is, to me at least. But exesential thought often is just a kind of circle jerk like you are the only person to every wonder about eternity and have their very being be shaken to the core by trying to grasp the concept. The whole reason the concept has persisted is because all people cannot comprehend it. The existence of eternity depends on us being unable to conceptualize what infinity is. Wandering about that doesn't make you special. It makes you human.
