I have always been confused as to why a person can't say what he/she thinks or feels. That is way too much control, in my opinion. Perhaps the control is given by those who so easily agree to keep silent?

And I respond, "Because they think I have to be more professionally developed. Master's degree wasn't enough. Trying all this new stuff isn't enough. They have to show me "new" things. You know, the kind I started 3 years ago." I'm getting like 10 of these and hanging them around my classroom as art.

I just love you because everything you say is so true. I taught for 20 years and had to retire because the stress exacerbated my autoimmune illnesses. To listen to you makes me laugh and know that my years of teaching were purposeful and I had a great time with my students before all of the "eyes" of administration entered the room and the government told us how to teach! Teaching is a gift that we are given and I quit because the school district was trying to take it away from me! And, as far as reopening...I really don't know what districts are thinking...oh, I never did! lol

Deborah misses the point by bringing her colleague on stage-it's not the same thing. Comedy is about timing and he threw her a lead to crack his joke, while Deborah in turn, responded seriously. You can't interview a comedian and not think that he or she will be on joke time most of the interview. Eddie wasn't saying that all women can't get along, but he must have a joke about the women teachers he observed for years who were fighting in the break room. He went mute in order not to lose fans or create liabilities by avoiding a misogynistic response. He's a comedian and he didn't sound like he was being pig headed, but still needs to be responsible/careful with his jokes. Bringing up the woman with the head phones on your couch chair was a missed opportunity to help Eddie B. make his punchline, that's all!
