It's been like that for 13 yrs. The audio engineers put the same filters on all vocals in SM, around 2016 they got really strong. SHINee's raw vocals are more expressive and nuanced than studio versions, especially Jonghyun.

I know right? Live SHINee always sounds better. But especially with this album. They blunted Jinki's voice so much! When he sings these songs live now, his voice feels effortless, crystal clear, full with emotions... I love everybody's voice (each is a different flavour). But with this comeback Jinki's shines like now other. And he was worried he won't sound good enough...

난 이 버전도 좋다 역시 뭐니뭐니해도 발음향 뚫는 샤이니 아니겠음 기계음 묻히는거 들리자마자 목소리 뚫고 나오는거 희열 그리고 샤이니가 너무 이뻐서 이 영상 포기못해

This may be weird, but I sometimes hear Jonghyun's voice when they sing. Especially on the last part of Kind ( even on some of their songs). Maybe it's their harmonization or what but it somehow makes me feel like " yeah, this is how Jonghyun might sound like, or this is how he will sing it with the members" and it's like amazing. It's like Jonghyun is still with us, SHINee and SHINee world. SHINee is forever 5.

i got my CD of DCM, played, Kind comes and im like O.o Im crazy, I hear voices.. that is Jonghyun... so i replayed it no stop over and over for a hour plus.. nope that is his voice somewhere.. mostly in the beginning and when those lyrics are repeated... ALSO i often hear him when Onew sings his parts in old songs.. Im losing it?

i find that jinki and jonghyun's voices are kinda similar in some parts and surely taem's has something of jong's voice in it so it probably is their voices mixed up that sound a lil like jong!

I’m not a shawol but damn I’m fucking falling in love with Onew’s voice and visual. He’s so damn attractive!

Jonghyun and minho was scouted bc of their visual. Onew bc of their voice- lsm picked him. Taekey bc of their dance. I am more surprised how these 5 ppl contain so much talents. The best thing sm ever did is put 5 of them together.
