This song was sung at my baby boy's funeral. It will always be one of my favorite. Still, after 19 years, it brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful!

I can't even find words to tell you how much I have enjoyed this song, it brings comfort and calm to my heart.

In the 1950s, in my very young years, I was learning to join in the congregational singing in our country, prairie church and this was always a beloved favorite. So beautiful.

It is a Catholic hymn, although it is in some Protestant hymnals. (Samule Webbe, who wrote the tune, was organist at the Portuguese Embassy Chapel in London, one of the few places in England at the time where Roman Catholics could openly worship. [That is why some books identify 'Adeste Fideles' as a 'Portuguese Tune', although it is actually French--it was introduced to England at the Portuguese Chapel.)

That low c at the end takes skill. It really gives the song its depth.
