I miss smiling at people, but sometimes it is a blessing in disguise that people can’t see the face I’m making 😆

Same! Lol
I feel like I'm the only one who likes that people can't see the bottom half of my face anymore 😂 my first job was retail though, I have flashbacks on the regular 🤣 I love that it helps people who need to read lips, might have to pick one up
@elfrog98

I like it too 😅 but you're right about the lip reading

I'm right there with you I love the masks and being able to hide .y face since I'm super introverted. But I can see how this mask will be great for people who are HOH or deaf

omg I work in retail and I'm so glad they can't see my mouth cuz some of these ppl are just... mmm....
"Please do not ask me silly questions like that." LOL 😆 🤣 😂
the immediate jump cut from "I will NOT buy ANYTHING!" to "okay look..." had me laughing 😂
My first job was working for a company that provided a free 4 day vacation to a family who had a child with special needs or life threatening illness at a beautiful cabin here in Upstate New York. I bought all the groceries, handled emails, and greeted the families when they got to the cabin!

What a fun job!
I like being able to hide my face because I'm kind of introverted, but I do miss seeing other people's faces because biology/sociology. Anyway my first job was running a dish machine in the kitchen of a live-in facility for disabled adults.
This mask is perfect for me, I'm immediately buying this one. I'm hard of hearing and this promotion is super timely, Toni!
My first job.. I was 13 years old and worked at the local small town video rental place. Like vhs. Remember those? I dusted cases, rewound tapes and rented them out with my classmate. We made $10 a night and it was usually just the two of us for 4 hours. I've been working ever since (im 29 yo) until I had my first child 3 years ago. Now I'm a stay at home parent addicted to yarn.
No one should ever have to hide a smile that is as great and friendly as yours is! I myself, like to hide my mouth because I am usually making a face or saying something I shouldn't. Too many years of retail and then customer service. First job was working my aunt's flower shop. Loved it!
My first job was as a Dental Assistant and I did that for 50 years. I am now retired. Love your channel xxxx
My dad used to say " Save money for a rainy day. It's raining! Let's go buy a car!" My first job was a summer job after high school and before college. I was a receptionist at an Air Force dispensary. May I just say, Air Force doctirs are just as crazy as Navy doctors. My dad was a Navy doctor.
@KwispyZ

One of the Air Force doctors my husband met literally said "viruses have a right to live too" lol. This was years before Covid.
Very proud of you putting down all those items at Target. That’s huge!
I have this same mask from Jelli M1 and I agree with you about how comfortable and secure it is! I also picked the midnight color cos it looks really cool to me!
Sweet Lady, thank you for being a lifeboat in the sea of chaos. I was also disappointed at Michel’s store yarn selection. I wanted some Pipsqueek yarn to make a blanket for a new grand baby. Their selection of baby yarns was slim & none. I will have to order from amazon. I love your channel.
Hi!! 😊 My first job was a balloon modeller 🎈😁 best job ever but super exhausting! Love the idea of the transparent mask! I am hard of hearing so rely on lip reading.. This would make life so so much easier right now 😱

@@AJGaming_24 Ah interesting! I don't even think we have a name for that over here. Or maybe I don't know it... Sounds like a fun job though!
Thank you for sharing I ordered my mask. My first job was at age 10 and packed bags at a supermarket across the street from my house in Newyork city made good money$ 175.00 to $200.00 a week which was good for a 10-year-old but I use to help my mom pay the bills. I love to go shopping on rainy days because its fewer people lol
My first job was at 12, cleaning house for an elderly neighbor while she recovered from surgery. I really didn’t want to, being 12 and spoiled, but Mama promised I would. And I ended up cleaning for her a couple of years and enjoyed getting to know her.
Super wish I could wear this at work. I spend a lot of time around elderly folks who are hard of hearing, but we're required to wear KN95s (which is completely fine and I take their safety and mine very seriously, just wish there was a variant of this approved for medical care).
When I was 14 I started bussing tables at the Country Kitchen in Wayzata, MN (long gone, now a Chipotle). My dad knew the manager and put in a good word for me. I couldn't believe it when my first shift was over and the wait staff tipped me. Going home with cash in my pocket was an awesome feeling.
Hi Toni! There is NEVER a time I go into Target and come out with what was on my list. It is so easy to go around the entire store and spend hours in there. Also, interested to see what you make with the LB Hometown. Love the dark grey color you chose!
I absolutely love your Channel! I have learned how to tunisian crochet from you! Toni please don't stop making tutorials! ❣
Photo processing shop OMG I found creme cotton the other day and fell in love
Wow, seeing that many plastic bags at once was a big surprise. In Germany we don't use these single use bags that much anymore
I love the Creme Cotton. I used the Dusty Rose to make your Summertime Tee. It was the first garment I ever made and to my surprise and delight...It came out fab!
My first job was flipping burgers at a lake concession stand. I also learned how to use the register. It had long rows of number keys, one column for each digit. Once you put in the number you had to hit this big button to the right! I loved it! I am banned (self imposed) from buying yarn. I must "shop" my yarn stash. I probably have 8+ totes of yarn. Thanks for the video!
My first job was the Philadelphia stock exchange. I worked for the clearing house on the top floor of the building and was a Lilly Tomlin with an old 555 switchboard. It was a fun job.
The Crème Cotton has been around a while. I was worried it was going away as it was on clearance. This version of skein was available years ago and I’m so happy it’s back. The crème cotton is really lovely to work with and hope they come out with brighter hues. I’m so glad and hopeful it’s not discontinued! ❤As always great content
My almost four year old currently takes yarn and wraps it around a crochet hook and covers the whole thing with yarn. I can't wait for her to get a handle on the real thing.

So cute...
I’ve really enjoyed these last couple of videos. It feels like we get to know you, the maker, on a more personal level. Thanks for sharing! ♥️
Seeing your videos always make me so happy. Your positive attitude and smile is so refreshing. 💕💕
Love your energy and smile! Thank you for all that you share! ❤️
Just stumbled across your channel trying to learn more about Tunisian Crochet. What a lovely, jolly lady you are. Your tutorials are perfect pace and clearly explained, I am keen to give this style of crochet a try & feel with your guidance I may not make too many mistakes. This visit with you shopping was delightful as I have been out very rarely in the last year & look forward to browsing in a craft shop myself here in the UK. Take care Toni (hope I got your name right) Happy crafting.
Thank you, Toni. Your bright smile and sweet spirit were what I needed today!
I love the mask. Looks like it gives maximum protection. It's nice to see facial expressions all the time.
Love you, Toni!!! I haven’t been in a Michaels in a long time! So thank you for letting us vicariously shop there through you!
My very first job was in 1983 at Zody's, it's kinda like a Target. I worked in the Men's dept.
Girl, I ordered one of those masks. I rely on facial expressions because I'm such a sarcastic person, and nobody can see my face anymore! I got the same mask you're wearing because it looks perfect! Update: I got some of that same cotton in white, light gray, silver and sage green to make a dress for a little girl. I am really loving working with it.
Hi Tony, I discovered your channel last week and I am already addicted, I love your content. Your yarn tips and suppliers are amazing. I absolutely love your Tunisian crochet beginner videos. I still have to purchase the Tunisian crochet suppliers so that I can start your makes. In the meantime I am going to do the normal crochet, I think my crochet supplies I bought online will arrive early next week and I will purchase yarn that is similar to what you share in your videos here in South Africa. Thank you so much for sharing your craft and your designs. Ntsiki
My first job was a camp counselor. I love it. I was 15. I love your channel and I appreciate you helping me learn mosr about the craft that I love.
My first job was working for a local newspaper the Queens Ledger. I got this job after graduating high school, and worked there 5 years.
My first job was working as a corn sorter at a farm. We had to feel each cob as it came along a conveyor belt to insure it wasn't buggy or mushy (yuck!) as well as make sure it was the ideal size (tossing those that didn't make the cut).
My first job was a cashier in a grocery store. Needless to say never again will I ever work retail or grocery ever again lol. So glad I'm not the only one to fall down the Target rabbit hole. Everytime I go in there for an item or two I need, I end up spending at least $100 on other stuff like movies.
My first job was gardening and giving garden tours at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. I did beautiful work but it was VERY stressful. I didn't know Toni was a Michigan girl!
My 1st job was sweeping floors at a Toot-N-Totem store for $2 a shift (I was 14 and not old enough to work). Sad sad job.
My eyes and my eyebrows say it all. The bottom half of my face is the second part.🤣🤣🤣 My first job was at a burger/Mexican food place. I only worked there for a month. It was horrible. I have been eating there for my entire life and will always eat there for life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This mask is amazing!! I love that your glasses didn't fog up! That is the worst part about wearing masks for me! 🤓 My first job was babysitting!! I watched kids and babies all through high school! Thanks for showing us your yarn and bead haul! 🧶🧶🧶
My first job was pulling weeds in a cemetery.
I am so Blessed that I found your channel. I just love how positive and sweet you are
This was such a fun Vlog. I totally enjoy shopping with crafters. Keep it up TL.
My first job was piano teacher and I loved it! The studio where I took lessons used the "older" students for the beginners until they mastered enough of the basics to get on my boss's schedule. Worked there for a long time though my boss was often difficult
My first job was at McDonald's--the first one ever in Barcelona. It was a huge event. I would love to see your bead creations--I'm sure they're as amazing as your yarn designs.
My very first job was baking cookies to sell at the local Mennonite bulk food store. I made Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter, Sugar Cookies regularly. Then I would make some specialty cookies like Chocolate Pinwheels, Lemon, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Snicker Doodles, etc. I think I was around 9 or 10 when I started my little cookie baking business. I also made sugar free, gluten free whole wheat mini bread loaves. I started baking the bread for my granddad because he had bad reactions to store bought bread. My Grandma told other people about my bread and I ended up with a few regular customers.
My last several Michael’s trips have been disappointing too!
Hi Tony! I love your channel! My first job was a sales job at a retail store called Ups&Downs. Thanks for sharing your thoughts during yarn shopping!
Senior Center Kitchen Aid lol, I was 14 and I once cracked 500 eggs at once for like 200 eggplant parmesans. This is where I learned to crack eggs with one hand on both sides.
I absolutely love your smile! And now I'm actually thinking about trying my hand at crocheting again. So, we'll see. :-/
I learned about the heavy yarns I didn't know about.
OMG I've eaten from that pizza place! So good! Also, I knew there was a reason I like you! Hello, fellow Michigander!
My very first job was volunteering with the government right out of high school. I was given a $30/week stipen for transportation. I was responsible fir going to public run daycare centers and seeing what their needs were (I think it was such a loooooong time ago.)
That mask is amazing. I want to try it. I also wear glasses and fogging is always a problem. It's so great to be able to see people's smiles again!! And my first job was as a car hop at a drive-in called The Sip N Nip in Battle Creek, Michigan☺️
My first job was at Yellow Front, kind of an very early WalMart. Clothing and household things. Also sad about Michael's selection of yarn lately. I love some of the Caron yarns that are exclusive to them, but can never find them! Thanks for taking us along! Oh..love the mask. My biggest gripe is not seeing facial expressions.
Thanka for sharing the mask! My actual first job I guess would be babysitting & started when I was 9 (very mature 9 year old) but my first real job was a consession supervisor & head cashier at a movie theater when I was 16. Thanks for sharing your shopping with us...have a great day!
My first job was working at a bingo hall at age 15 but my very first job was washing the cafeteria tables after lunch when I was in 5th grade...my paycheck was free lunch and extra food the ladies had from serving a elementary/jr high school.
Here in CO, yarn stock at Michales varies a lot. Might be worth checking out a couple different stores in your area to see if the selection is bigger/better. My first job was baby, garden and pet sitting. First paycheck job was at Discovery Zone. So. Many. Stories.
The BEST feature of the mask is that one can see your face! Btw...I saw your post on Expressions Fiber Arts & followed you here. I love your site, as it's so *informative.*
My first job was at a local screenprinting business, I worked as a graphic designer! I was only there for about 2 months, they ended up hiring more employees that could work more hours than me, so I ended up being let go. Hands down my favorite job I've had, I got to sit and do art for a living. Pay was less than desirable, but it was a good experience nonetheless
My first job was making pizzas at a local Italian restaurant. I loved it and learned so much at that job.
Uh oh, you may need to do another Michael's run, my daughter just told me they have color changing yarn! I have some HiKoo Abracadabra and it's so fun I'd love make more color changing projects.
I work at Michael’s in CA. I love my 30% off employee discount. Yes, most of my purchases since I started has been yarn, crochet hooks, and knitting needles. I do replenishment of the beads & jewelry area. I don’t know about where you live, but the truck comes on a Wednesday. So, Thursday’s & Fridays are spent restocking.
My first job was at the video tape rental/customer service counter at a local grocery store. Ordered my Jelli in white. Thanks for the discount!
I really love your videos😍😍 you're literally my number 1 crochet content creator🥺❤❤

Awww shucks! Thank you!
I just placed an order for the Jelli mask! Thanks for the recommendation
I used to work in Southfield Town Center! Woot for Bellacino's!!
This was like shopping with my bestie - which I’m missing. Thanks for the trip! Target AAARRGGG!! Also a bead freak ~ The struggle is real 😆
My mom is hard of hearing so not being able to read lips during COVID has been a challenge, obviously. My first job was a gymnastics coach! I injured myself too many times and had to retire at the ripe, old age of 18. I would coach and then stay and workout a little bit. Was definitely the most fun job I've had. Sharing the passion, joy, frustrations, and challenges of something you hold close to your heart is something I'm sure you relate to! I really appreciate all you share with us on your channel. ❤
Love the shopping trip 💗💗
Great video, I always enjoy watching your reviews! My job was a housekeeper at a hotel.
Just found your channel! I love your energy and can't wait to see more! Subscribed!!
omg Baby Rainbow feels sooooooo nice! Same with Eco-Brights- tho neither have the same gauge or texture as feels like butta. I wish they were permanent...but the timing was nice since I am making baby stuff for my friend's upcoming baby! I've also been enjoying Bernat Bundle Up, which can be used interchangeably with Lion Brand Feels Like Butta (or Red Heart Amore if you have any of that left)
I really like creme cotton, it knits up nicely and feels so nice against skin. It has a great drape too.
My first job was in an artists center. I was hired to look over the exhibits when the owner needed to be somewhere or to run errands. Coolest job ever. We had so little visitors that I was basically paid to do my homework and listen to music 😅 Am I crazy or did Michaels use to have an amazing yarn selection and nowadays there is almost nothing good? I've been hearing the same thing from a lot of people too.
You make bracelets too...I knew you were awesome! Thanks for another fun video.
😂😂😂 l love your honesty! My other hobby is beading too! I tend to go from beading to crochet, I’m on the the crochet train for now.
First job was at a clothing store folding clothes. Wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't started in December with the Christmas craziness 😆 100% agree with your opinion on Michael's, I never really love their yarn selection either :( they're great for other things like frames, paints and brushes, but not so much for fiber arts. Joann's takes the cake on that one!
I’d love to see the bracelets you make Toni!
I was a sales associate at The Homemaker Shop in Macomb mall in Roseville MI. In 1984! I WAS 16
I got some of that Creme Cotton yarn recently. I’m going to make an airy, lacy, summery shirt.
Hat was a fun shopping trip. Interesting mask. My first job was babysitting then packing eggs at a chicken farm.
I ordered mine. Thank you, always looking for a good mask that won't fog up my glasses.
My first “paycheck” job was with the forest service the summer I was fifteen. I enjoyed it, but it was a lot of physical labor like making trails and building water-conservation dams. If I had to do that now, I probably wouldn’t survive. Hand me a warm mug, some yarn, and a hook, and I’ll be happy! I love your videos!
Babysitting was my first job. My first "official"job was an internship with the Security Commission in my state. Lol!
Realized I recognized the area and that road Is dangerous because like allll the shops are right there and it’s so easy to just go oh well I will pop over to target/Michael’s/etc lol
I also do beadwork, and just picked up crochet. I am trying to pick up Tunisian crochet and make your adventurous scarf
I had so much fun shopping with you!! You shop like I do....I will not buy anything..I absolutely will not buy anything....an hour later and I'm checking out....and validating my purchases to myself...and why?! I don't have to answer to anyone but me...lol! Love the mask!! Hope you will show us your bracelets! Oh...my 1st job was at the G.C. Murphy Store..while in high school and college. They were amazing to work around my school schedule! Long, long time ago!!
The Jelli mask looks super interesting, being able to see a full face can make a huge difference for so many people. My only concern is the vents, other vented masks I've seen filter in, but not out which is just as important. I was in a National Park this past weekend where they had a sign of what they didn't qualify as a proper mask, and it specifically called out masks with vents. Maybe that's why some people are having issues getting it shipped to some states?
@TLYarnCrafts
3 жыл бұрын
Great perspective. There may be some info on the website about the vents.
"Please don't ask me stupid questions...." LOL. Exactly! It's like when I buy a bunch of yarn on clearance and they say: so what are you gonna make with all of this? I'll let you know when I figure it out myself. Ha!
You are just so fun to watch!
Hey, my husband’s from Southfield, Michigan! :) I’m no longer in Michigan but yay, Michiganders for the win! :) I knew there was a reason I liked you. 😁
Thanks for reviewing the mask. It looks like a great design, however it would be nice if they offered an option on the strap. Meaning the full around the head OR just over the ears. I too made my own masks and modified the design to go around the head as it was more comfortable for me. My husband however has hearing aids for both ears & had to tie his face mask to be able to easily work around the hearing aids.
My kiddo has been in speech therapy for so long and these would be awesome for SLP!
