I don't know if Esther and Dylan are lovers. It's normal for them to build chemistry while being involved in the same project. It's a mystery whether they even see each other anymore. They act like they don't know each other. I think this is extremely unnecessary. They're either sad, not friends, or lovers trying to hide it. All kinds of weird. They are immature. But if they are still lovers, no matter what, if a friend and your lover are kissing or hugging, even if it's for drama purposes, it can be a problem. We say that Dylan is jealous, but he is in very close contact with Bailu both in and outside the drama. There are almost no kissing scenes in Esther's latest series. Dylan and Bailu became very close and we saw all kinds of scenes. Yes, they are all acting as actors. So if restrictions were imposed on Esther due to jealousy, why wasn't it imposed on Dylan? More free? There was admiration and love in the way Dylan looked at Esther. We believed this too. The dramas and scenes he shot with Bailu were a little too much for me. Frankly, I didn't like the series very much. Dylan is a jokey young man, but he goes a little overboard with his jokes. Does Esther handle these situations professionally? Personally, even if he shoots such a series with my friend, if he maintains the same sincerity outside of the series, I will stay there. It's entirely my opinion. I don't know if I criticized too harshly :)

Dylan has said in many interviews how he's not the type to hide his relationship and wouldn't mind being public either so the idea that he doesn't talk to Esther anymore because they are dating literally makes zero sense. The fans just wanted an excuse to cope for why they are ignoring each other. I'm pretty sure Dylan is single because there's no way he would be that close to Bailu if he was dating anyone at all. He was hugging and wrapping his arms around Bailu while reading the script numerous times on set, which is completely unnecessary for most actors to do let alone one with a girlfriend tbh. When Dylan appeared on Keep Running back in early 2022 (before Only for love), I noticed he was already being flirty and trying to get her attention. Considering how Bailu and Esther are very good friends, the way he acts with Bailu is rather inappropriate if he's dating/has dated Esther and that's why I don't believe that Esther and Dylan were ever a thing. There was never any concrete evidence either. Anyway, it's fairly common for drama couples to just stop talking once promotions end; the couple pairing is usually just done to boost viewership. p.s I agree with you that love scenes in the drama aren't a big deal because they are all actors at the end of the day; the problem is how he still clings onto Bailu even outside of the drama. Dylan literally stood around to wait for Bailu so they could go backstage together on Weibo Night recently. The both of them were also constantly leaning over Zhao Lusi (who sat between them) just to talk to each other like the whole night while Esther was only a seat away from Bailu.

It's almost funny to think they are dating when the 2nd male lead Wang Xingyue knew more about her than Zhang Linghe did during their shows and interviews together. He also said she's like an older sister to him. Their couple pairing was simply a marketing tool just like all the others, and it worked; the rumors brought a lot of attention towards Kunning Palace when it was airing. I mean shipping is fun and all, but keep in mind that 99.9% of these ships are not real for your own sanity.
