Better than Hocus Pocus 2, and maybe even the original film. One of my biggest gripes with the original was how they made the Sanderson sisters dumb for the sake of a 'happy ending'. One of the biggest plot holes was when Winifred made Sarah use the song to lure the children to the house only for them to not even use the potion on them when they had a chance. Instead she wanted revenge on one specific child for being called 'ugly' which is one of the dumbest reasons to risk losing your life over. Originally, the film was supposed to be darker and have a lot more emphasis on 'Horror' and end with the Sanderson sisters actually winning, but Disney micromanaged the plans and the script, and didn't want to risk upsetting people and scaring children because god forbid a Horror movie actually scares people. I personally think it would've been better. At least we have a film like 'The Witch' which in my opinion is one of the best Horror movies ever regarding witches and what they all should be.
