The music is a bit of a mess tho. It's from the movie so it has some unnecessary extra things in it.

Best version Ive heard just checked out quite a few tonight. By far the best rendition.

Can I just say how much I appreciate your lyrical ideas in this. In the original cover that wrote the extended lyrics. They replaced "Garden of magic" with "Garden of shadows" in both verses. But you kept the original line in the first verse and also used the original's cover's line in the last verse. I.E. "Garden of magic" in the first verse and "Garden of Shadows" in the last. 10/10. I do think that certain parts of the instrumentals need to be just a bit quieter so it's not so load and overpowering your voice. 9/10. Overall I rate this a 9/10, it's really good and amazing. If you were to make certain parts just a bit quieter on the instrumentals, it's definitely a 10/10.

Very few covers really effect that ethereal vibe that this chant should. This one does though.

Thank you so much for singing it correctly and really paying tribute to this wonderful movie! ❤️ Hate how so many swap out the last word in the first verse for "shadows"! All the extra verse's were written in 2002 by Belos, about 9 years after Hocus Pocus was released! Brock Walsh and James Horner did indeed intend for the last word, in what is now considered the first verse, to be "magic"! In my opinion, almost all of these other Hocus Pocus tributes aren't truly legit if they can't bother to sing the original verse correctly! By changing it, they're actually singing Belos' fan version of the song, word for word, instead of the initial song, with the fan lyrics added in for length. There's nothing wrong with the extra verses, they're as hauntingly beautiful as the initial song, and a great addition, but I, personally, think that's all they should really be, an accompaniment to the original lyrics! ...Besides, whose's going to lure children in with the promise of a garden of "shadows"? Watching this a day late, but loving it!

so since I grew up in a middle eastern family around Halloween we sing this song I was dressed as a creepy bizarre keeper and two good friends of ours were dressed as creepy looking jinn and my sister was dressed as a middle eastern sorceress. Since our dad was really good with affect we were able to look like we both had glowing yellow eyes and the fiery red eyes was playing my qanun my sister was playing her oud and we were both singing while our two friends dressed as jinn were doing creepy dancing. We sang one part in English then we sang the rest in Arabic. Trying to translate this song from English to Arabic was a pain in the butt but thanks to our arabic-speaking parents we were able to do it. The rest of our family thought the Arabic verse sounded beautiful but also really creepy. We thought we would take a song from an awesome movie but put a little of our culture into it one really cool thing we did was when we were done playing the song one of my friends dressed as a jinn bowed at my feet and the other one bowed at my sisters and how could I forget how my sister and I both did the well-known middle eastern humming in between each verse. I forgot to mention Dad did put two scepters that he made by my sister and I and made it look like snake scepters and made it look like the eyes were glowing basically hypnotizing the jinn we also had red fog thanks to some lighting and our fog machine rising up behind us as if we were calling the jinn from The Unseen to come play with us

Jenn PK you're welcome i like to sing as well i have different diagnoses i have ADHD Bipolar Psychosis and autism witch went un diagnosed for years i have meltdowns because of the autism major self injurious behavior and i have depressions due to the bipolar i am on medication for those things but singing makes me happy i also have borderline MR witch my mom and brother also have specail needs as well my brother is also on the autism spectrum i don't know where i am on the autism spectrum i might be high functioning cause i can speak some kids with autism are very highly verbal and some are non verbal
