Beautiful interpretation. The lute was very precisely played. She has a lovely delicate clear voice that she modulates so well. I loved the harmonization with herself at the end. Maybe borrowed from Sting who sings Dowland so well too.

Beautiful interpretation, its always a delight to hear Dowland being sung in a more natural voice rather than the classic soprano that we are used to these days

John Dowland wrote a lot of sad music, I'm glad he had the happiness in his life to write this. I think that happiness has been found again and shared to the world with this performance, so joyful.

Lyrics: Come again Sweet love doth now invite Thy graces that refrain To do me due delight To see, to hear To touch, to kiss To die with thee again In sweetest sympathy To see, to hear To touch, to kiss To die with thee again In sweetest sympathy All the day The sun that lends me shine By frowns doth cause me pine And feeds me with delay Her smiles, my springs that makes my joy to grow, Her frowns the winter of my woe Her smiles, my springs that makes my joy to grow, Her frowns the winter of my woe All the night My sleeps are full of dreams, My eyes are full of streams My heart takes no delight To see the fruits and joys that some do find And mark the storms are me assign'd To see the fruits and joys that some do find And mark the storms are me assign'd Come again! That I may cease to mourn Through thy unkind disdain; For now left and forlorn I sit, I sigh, I weep, I faint, I die In deadly pain and endless misery I sit, I sigh, I weep, I faint, I die In deadly pain and endless misery

BRAVO !

Just wonderful and quite different from the first version. This time Céciles voice comes out much stronger and her duet with herself is stunning. Olivier's accompaniment on the lute is flawless but I must say (hoping you will not take this amiss) that on the guitar he sounded more spirited. Be that as it may - this great duo deserves highest acclaim!A+++

A very dynamic and inspired performance, really highlighted the melody. Most don't bring out its character like that. I hear a lot of G. Handel, he must of studied or came in contact with this style in England some two centuries later, because his arias use these kind of vocal jumps to great effect.
