Now Dva is up for a UFC title , what a transformation

Punches, kicks, elbows, knees, headbutts allowed. All sorts of throws, takedowns, holds, submissions allowed. Headgear, 4 oz gloves, shin pads weared to prevent any bad injuries espacially brain damage. I really can’t name a better and more complete martial art.

I agree but I headgear doesn't really prevent brain damage that much. It mostly prevents cuts but your head/brain still bounces when you get hit. You also get hit more wearing a headgear since you can't slip as good as without headgear. Sambo is still great and with combat sports brain damage is almost guaranteed. ofc some people might not suffer as much as others.

@@patrickbatman1908 Combat Sambo will probably result in less brain damage than most striking focused arts due to the emphasis on freestyle wrestling & judo

@lukajiqia4152 That's not true, merab did Sambo since he was a child. That's pretty much how most athletes from former soviet countries get into mma. It's very similar style to mma.

good match. I feel in a UFC fight Merab woulda had this. He clearly hurt him there at the end and was taking over.

It would've ended earlier, the russian was much better on the ground and in the UFC they don't stand you up after 30 seconds on the ground. The russian would have submitted him.

It's MMA with a few rule modifications. Some fights end up as boxing or kickboxing matches, and others like this.

There is some truth to that. There is limited time on the ground and you can win with a pin. I would say it's sports sambo/judo + striking.
