Eh. Unless you're in a big crew usually these missions get played with 2-5 people, and having such a small team usually ends badly and you end up never getting past the 2 - 3rd mission. This guy had the benefit of playing with the entire dev team. It doesn't always play out like you see in these videos.

They got so close you could hear the trees speaking Vietnamese, it was a tactic used by the NVA to "stick to the enemy", the idea being if you got so close the enemy couldn't use CAS or Arty without hitting their own.

You're a small recon team on 'somewhere on the Ho Chi Min Trail'. The trail is maintained by thousands of North Vietnamese engineers, defended by hundreds of flak gunners and there are tens of thousands of NVA infantrymen infiltrating towards South Vietnam who can be 'tasked' to hunt you down as well. Later in the war, special NVA commando units got create to actually hunt recon teams. So you had to be careful and watch out for trackers, dog teams etc. BTW: the term 'Prairie Fire' is a code word used when you're in imminent danger of being overrun. Per John Plaster, if you're in a really tight spot, you call the airstrikes ON your position. Interestingly enough, regular bombs are too dangerous (concussion wise) to use close up. The most effective weapon was napalm and cluster bombs (assuming you're in a reasonably open area, otherwise they detonate in the treetops)

​@@hotheadgaming4797two players is not "fine" unless you plan on never completing a mission 😂. You need AT LEAST a 5-6 man team to have any realistic chance of beating the campaign. You may get past the first or second mission and that's it

Well what did you expect? It's a map that's larger than Altis (A3's biggest vanilla map) and it's HEAVILY VEGETATED on top of that.

Nikola I, these missions are good because they were real life missions. This is a historically correct Vietnam war game. You should read about this unit, MACV SOG.

I've played Vietnam servers in Arma 3, and its full of people staying near 3 huts for 15 minutes to move 500 meters to get and stay in fire-fight.

Really? Every time I play it's just people flying in the air not supporting the ground troops. There will be 50 people in a server and yet only 12 guys are actually on the ground taking objectives.

You're missing the fact that he's playing in multiplayer with actual humans. He says so right in the video. All you gotta do is pay attention.

No. you will have a terrible time. Why would you play ANYTHING with randos? So they can go be a lone wolf and not have a headset plugged in?

Every time I try to find a game in the co-op campaign, it never does. I guess no one plays it?

Na. This dude got lucky and had the advantage of playing with the actual dev team in a private group. Unless you're part of a large Arma unit then you can expect to play this alone. Or with maybe 2-3 of your friends. And even if you get 4 - 5 of you guys together it will 90% of the time end in mission failure. You really do need at least an 8 - 10 man team to have a chance at a successful mission. Which is why I've just given up on trying to complete these missions

Forget Karmakut this guy is way better. Eyes on behind the tree. (is looking at a forest lol)

No there's not. your loss. This is an amazing dlc. There's more to games than just pvp. Arma 3 is largely a co-op/ pve game. If you want pvp then go play siege.

This dlc and map SPECIFICALLY is very demanding even for 1080/2080 rigs. So whatever that 500 card you're using will probably not get the job done. The map is bigger than Altis and it is HEAVILY vegetated. You need a good PC to run it. With your rig you'd probably get 10 fps at best on the lowest graphics settings

Those are humans ....... More specifically that's the actual dev team with veterans that were actually in vietnam. He says so right in the video. If you pay attention life will get easier

0:08 pronounce it as "prayer-y".

I love Nam era games, but... whenever I see Arma 3 engine in work I had a resemblances how awkward and clunky it is now and I will not get back to this game. When I need a jungle feel I launch Ghost Recon Wildlands or Breakpoint. The later is so smooth in gameplay and animations... Sorry, but Arma is using just too old engine (it is basically 1999 software with some adjustments).

DLC is good but the game engine is so old. Not optimized. FriendlyNikolai's FPS is pretty low with that rig on low settings. We can't play this on our mid range rig.
