You're a wiz when it comes to creating fly tying supplies. Before you started doing this I can't recall how many products I used trying to create these lol.. I tip my hat to the Master 🎩

Thank you Wayne
Bought a bunch and love this idea. Not the same as EP but close. EP is 100% acrylic fibers, not polyethylene. I figured out the magic word search for EP fibers. The hard part is getting the variety of colors you need and the Angelina flash that is long enough to pair with it.
Great job Mike, I really appreciate you sharing all of your ideas and love watching your videos.

Just wanted to drop a line and tell ya that I really appreciate your videos. I’m always trying to find a better/cheaper alternative to fly materials and processes. Keep up the good work, I know your videos on rattles and EP fibers has saved me a lot of money and hassle.
Thanks for taking the time out of your day to make this awesome video and sharing your knowledge, very informative!!!!!
Thank you, this allows me to make the flys and colors that want much cheaper! 😀

🤯🤯 love it.
I have been just burning one end of the cord and picking/brushing out the fibers. This is WAY easier, I had never thought to pull the strands out of the rope like that.

LOL, me neither, the package said otherwise... so I went with it. Thank you for the comment.
used to make this and its pretty good but ep fibers are so much better and i cant go back great video tho.
Thanks Mike can you mention the link of the dubbing machine you made. Thanks
I've been wanting to make some streamers for bass and even panfish... This material is a bit pricey on the front end but looking at the lifetime amount... It's not that bad.

Gene Sloan - I found this Bonnie Cord in smaller 2mm size in 17 colors at Hobby Lobby for $3.99 each.
Thanks for the video! Good information. Any idea if the end product fiber sizes are the same across different "cord" sizes? e.g. 2mm to 6mm? I am thinking that Bonnie's designation of 2mm, 4mm and 6mm are the finished cord sizes, all with the individual strand size of the fiber being the same. I ask because I have found some colors available in 4mm or 2mm and not in the 6mm. Thanks again for the tutorial.

The 2mm & 4mm are okay. It's all the same in the end, it just takes a little more work.
Couple rolls of Bonnie Cord and you are set for 5 lifetimes!
Where do you find the colors you mentioned?

Link are in the description to all colors available.
Have you dyed them before? Buy white only and make custom colors?

I have not. There are so many colors, and they could easily be blended.
Where did you get the chartreuse from??

Hi! The chartreuse Bonnie Cord is out of stock. Could you have a look on your bought products label and tell what material this cord is made. i'm trying to find alternate brands available on Romanian (EU) market. Thanks!

@@TheFrugalFlyRodder I live in east Europe and I would like to look for local brands. What I need to know is the plastic the Bonnie Cord is made of. Polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, ...? Thanks in advance.

Polyolefin
Do these float like ep fibers?
@TheFrugalFlyRodder

Only if you add a floatant, same with the ep fibers.

The Bonnie Braid Macrame Craft cord is 100% Polypropylene. The specific gravity of polypropylene is .92 and the specific gravity of water is 1. Being less dense than water it floats.
👍👍👍💖💖🐠
Bonnie cord is expensive,I’ve been buying kanekelon in stead

I use Kanekalon and Bonnie Cord. Bonnie Cord is way, way, way cheaper. Kanekalon is best for making brushes, but with streamers, Bonnie Cord is the way to go.
