Moved there in I think 1960 from North Carolina when my dad took his first teaching job at the U, and the family never left. I lived there until I graduated from college (went out of state). Loved it. Parents passed only last year, and we've sold the house. Feels strange not to be able to "go home." It has changed a lot, but I can't think of another town that handled growth more gracefully. Thanks for the video, well done.
I live in CoMo for three years! 🇺🇦 international student here. It’s been almost a decade ago. So nice to see how the town has grown. Thank you so much for this video!
Been to Columbia many times. Great town. Never had a bad time there.
Man that place grew up so much since I live there back in 1990
Lived there for 3 years and went to Mizzou! This video brings back so many memories man. Thanks for sharing.
I lived in Columiba over one year and it was really amazing for me to live there!
Thank you Nic! My wife and 2 little kids are all excited to be moving from Oman to Como by mid-Oct. Your video do help a lot!
I love your format...quick, to the point, full of great information with relevant videos, no fluff or bs!!! thank you!
Thank you so much! This is was very helpful.
I was born at Boone hospital, lived near Huntsdale, but we moved when I was 2 unfortunately. Moved back in 1981, got married there. MU hospital was my son's home away from home for about 10 years. Joseph Williamson, my 4th great grandpa, bought the land the Bur Oak stands on in the early 1800's and it's still in the family.
Bro, quality content 👌🏿and one hell of a job on editing skills 🔥 thanks for the guide and info bro👍🏽
really well done and glad to have stumbled on this as we're road tripping coast to coast and stopping in Columbia, MO. Thanks!
Great to see these sights! I went to MU in the 80's, worked at Harpo's, loved Shakespeare's and Lakota, and always loved the town. Looks like there have been a few changes but they've kept the best parts.
Thanks for the video. I was curious about Columbia because I'm visiting family nearby. Looks like a cool town.
Thanks Nick! This was a very helpful video of the area

Thank you for this video among a dearth of Columbia content
Excellent presentation. I am a Canadian citizen of London, Ontario, Canada. I accessed your channel because I admire the creative artistry of actress, Miss Michelle E. Hendley, who resides in Columbia, Missouri, and is employed with Riversong Spa & Salon. Canadians love Michelle. I wish her every success. And thanks again for posting your presentation. Best wishes to YOU for every success too.
Hey Nic, thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. My granddaughter will be going to Mizzou in the fall. Since 6 hours is 4 hours too far for us grandparents it was nice to see your tour. 😀

So impressed with the style and your voice and choice of music. Great job on the video! I am older and still working along with my wife. Really like biking on trails. Like whole foods, trader joes, etc.. I am from CA and have looked at Raleigh, Greenville SC, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Augusta GA area, I will miss the bay area but have to move because of cost. Curious on your take on things and how this compares to other places you have lived except Japan as that is not a consideration lol.... Was also thinking of Fayetteville area Ark . Curious if Springfield area offers more to do? Job situation and being able to find a house is important. Don't mind a college place as long as there is more to it then that! Also don't want to feel like I can't drive to other cities nearby to get away when needed so don't want to be isolated.
10:17 is my old school 😂 10/10 ⭐️
Thanks for the neat window into the place, I love the small town vibe and variety of things to do, particularly the True/False festival. I had a scary dream I was in Kansas City once and met someone from your city, but I haven't been to either place, and certainly don't ever remember hearing or reading about Columbia before that dream, quite odd. I must have picked up the name subconsciously somewhere.
Really nice video.
This literally took me home. Graduated from MIZZOU in 2016 & moved to CA but CoMo will always be home for me. Thank you SO much for this! I too lived at LogHill Run (I think it's called something different now)! Las Margs being so close was alwaysss a must for their margarita days!! I definitely recommend also visiting Les Bourgeois Winery just outside of CoMo the wine & views are AMAZING!
I live at the row haha that’s awesome you put it up
Great video. Moving to COMO in April 2022 to live with my son and his family. Thank you. Looking for shops, christian churches great restraunts.
I have 8 yrs left to retire, One of three places we picked to retire. Thanks for the video.

For sure!
My stepdad's sister lives and teaches at the college. I've been there on holidays, recently moving to KC though from a SMALL town in Kansas. Columbia looks like a peaceful place to live and raise a family, I know I have fun when I visit there. :)
Interesting tour 👍 I've been thinking of making a video here too. (totally different style) 😁👍

Was born in San Diego. Lived there til I was about 5 and then I moved to Columbia Missouri! Just me and my mother. I had such a great time growing up here. I moved to Denver when I was 10 and I've lived here ever since. Just turned 25. I think about Columbia all of the time, I'd loveto go back and settle down there. Shakespeare pizza 😂 I remember they'd serve that every Friday at my Elementary school.

thanks for coming to pizza tree!
8:10 The first time I saw that scene, there was a pickup truck parked broadside behind the tree and I couldn't see it. The tree is that big.
I lived there about 17 years ago, but I think Deja Vu is now closed. That was the best dance club.

Total snow accumulations will vary, but it does fall at least 3-4 times during the winter season. Avg high temps are in the 40s (4 - 10C) with wind chills sometimes below zero (-17C)
I got here in 81 Love it

I've been here in 79-84 for my Ph. D., just feel like my 2nd home. Ol' Mizzou 84

I totally understand your disappointment. Like I said at the end of the video, there are tons of places I regret not covering. I knew a couple friends who attended CC and it’s a great option for those who don’t want to spend too much on tuition.
Cooooom!
I heard you talk a lot about movies and film, do you know anything about the Film/ cinema program at Mizzou?
i live in columbia and im so used to the horse sculptures and yellow thing in front of the library i just think its normal lmfao
I live I Columbia I LOVE it
I'm about to exit the army and Mizzou is one of the places I applied to, the cost of living and the schools military benefits were attractive. Unfourntaely, I am not able to visit Columbia myself. I'm curious if there is any water nearby, I love kayaking and other water activities

I’m moving there next week, which high school is best?
@nickvizcarra4273
2 жыл бұрын
There are three main high schools in the Columbia area: Rock Bridge (where I attended), Hickman, and Battle. I’ve never stepped inside the other two, so I can’t really say which school is considered the “best.” I’d encourage you to do some research about each school and their location to see which one is best suited for the ones attending!
Bro could you tell me what is the best place to rent in MU area up to 10 miles close to university
@nickvizcarra4273

Best apartment I’ve stayed in was at the Grayson Cottages. Reasonably priced, only about 3 miles away from campus AND they have a shuttle that’s pretty reliable.

I was there for schoolin early nineties and stayed till 98 but then there was lots of rentals. I lived in the roadway apartments. Because it was cheap. 290 a month not each but total. Right across from the stephens lake and golf course which was nice at night to sneak in and skinny dip after a long hot day. I wouldn’t recommend it unless u want cheap. The. Best thing I think to do is rent a house. They were pretty cheap. Stay away from the places behind Frat row on broadway. Also do you want to live with a. U ch if students or not? BroadwAy ends at forum and you can continue goi ng straight down the hill there And it’s a very hilly curvy road. Goes right by rock bridge park. Can’t remember the name of the road but there were awesome houses back along that road. Lots of families so not loud and crazy like behind frat row but it was great. I loved on blackberry lane. Great house with a lake to swim fish skate on. More down that road. It hooks up with I think with nifong road south of town and there were new apartments going up but mostly farms. It’s where Walmart farm is (lauries not Walton’s) forms the best place I lived was an old farmhouse out on 63 towards Jeff city. Farther than te. Miles but quiet and beautiful. You can find these houses all over but a little out of town. That’s s where I would live. Some are within ten.
le bourget winery CoMo next!!

I actually knew les from Les Bourgios winery. When I was in bocomo they just had the a frame. Later they built the Bistro and besides Les I knew a lot of people that worked there both in the fields and the restaurant. Great wedding place. I did help Les harvest a couple years. Les was a great guy. Greatest view on the bluffs. I used to go and watch the frat boys guzzle red wine like it was beer. Didn’t turn out great. But it was an institution in Columbia. Driving home from roach port was always fun.
Are there any public lakes to access in Columbia?

$400/mo?! That's nuts. 2bdr apartments in mid TN are $1200 min in a basic ass apartment in the suburbs...you can't find anhthing for $400 (except individual bedrooms w shared living space) in the entire state except maybe in west TN but it still wouldn't be common. Just looking this up bc the Vols played Mizzou today n I know nothing ab CoMo. Ended up watching the whole video 😅
Very helpful, thank you! Just one thing…the music is too loud and distracts from your wonderful narration. Just my 2c 🤷🏻♂️
0:50 I would NOT consider the State of Missouri as “Misery”. However, we’ve always referred to the City of Columbia as “Misery”. 😂
Como is the beautiful city.... Lake of como
The big tree 😅
Interesting video guide. Unfortunately, couldn’t watch it😢 Had to stop watching in minute after, because the background music volume is too loud, and also it’s bit st…d.
He kind of lost me when he started talking about driving out to see a big freaking tree in the middle of a field. If it is that boring there than no thank you. I would totally get to the field get out of my car look at the tree look around be like meh shrug my shoulders get back in the car and drive back to where I started from wondering why I drove out there in the first place.
You should know how are hoods like 😂
Too much talking, not enough footage of Columbia.

Do not live here. Buy my house in Florida so that I can retire where I should have retired - Columbia, MO. You wouldn't like it there. It snows. It is nowhere near the beaches or theme parks. So just move to Florida - no income tax!
Missed Ernie’s Diner as well. Landmark.
