THX for posting this vid it brings back my childhood. Many a day I spent at the Industry yard since growing up in nearby La Puente I was able to ride my bike with my Polaroid camera a sack lunch and a love for trains to see the Santa Fe about 5 miles to the north and S.P. and U.P. pretty much running parallel about a 1/2 mile apart from Sunset/7th Ave into Pomona. Oh to be young again.

Yes, I have a SD39 in HO scale and DCC/Sound with ditch lights on both front and rear. The older ones on this video rocks!!!!

Nice video! I love the part where you filmed in City of Industry yard and Nogales Street. It’s quite a shame that grade crossing isn’t there anymore. I will always miss those old sp emd locomotives.

Thank You! The high-hood 567's seemed to be in their element in this yard. I didn't know about Nogales St. xing; I haven't been in the area in years. Thanks for the comment.

It is now covered by a bridge, so is Fullerton Road North to Railroad Avenue, times have changed for my hometown of Rowland Heights. I love it here.

Thanks for the comments and sub. I wish I could re-load this one and keep the view count; KZread's conversion didn't go very smoothly.

An off topic comment, perhaps, but I remember how bad the smog was then. I'm glad it has improved somewhat.

Some of my Southern California videos of that era show how bad the photo-chemical smog could get back then. This one and the one titled "ATSF & Amtrak at Norwalk 1986" are good examples. The "Norwalk" one took some heavy-handed proc-amp to get an acceptable image. Thanks for the comment.

SP was really on a four-motor tear back then. They could get away with that on the Sunset Route.

Unlike northern California, where I don't remember seeing any 4 axle diesels except for GP9's or switchers.
