In Part 2 of my epic road trip through the Pilbara in Western Australia I continue to explore Karijini National Park by visiting Oxer Lookout and Dales Gorge. The next fixture is Newman where I join a mining tour to get an idea of the scale of iron ore mining here. The road trip then goes from Newman to Marble Bar, visiting Ophthalmia Dam, Punda Rock Art as well as several interesting geological sites along the way. Marble Bar is the base for trips to Carawine Gorge, Corunna Downs WWII Airbase, Herring Gorge and of course Marble Bar and Chinaman Pool. I explore the industrial city of Port Hedland and join a Harbour Cruise and a Salt Industry Tour there. Then it is off to Point Samson and the historic town of Cossack. From Karratha I join a tag-along tour with Clinton Walker, an indigenous tour guide and owner of Ngurrangga Tours. The road trip ends with a boat trip exploring the islands of the Dampier Archipelago.
