Colourful and Chewy Taro Balls, seen at Jiufen, one of Taiwan's most picturesque site. This traditional dessert is quite commonly seen in Taiwan's street food scene. You can choose to either consume it hot or cold. If the latter is chosen, shaved ice will be added to the sweet soup. The taro balls are often accompanied with red and green bean soup.

If anyone knows, can you tell me if the different colors of taro taste the same or not. What are the three sauces they put at the bottom of the bowls? Is that hot broth or hot water that they spoon over the balls if they don’t put ice on them? Is this a small lunch or a treat?
