I have always been confused about how much one can tube feed a kid right after it is born (if dam is not well or kid was a hard pull etc.) Recently had to tube feed triplets and the tiny one got 100ml and the other two 120 mls. Think it was enough to keep them going until mum could teach them where to get the milk. When I checked on them at 3 in the morning they all had full bellies and didn't want my bottle. Having a proper scale in the barn would help.
vet student from Australia here! am loving this technical series❤ with such a big first feed for calves, do the calves normally drink such big amounts by themselves or is it normally in the context of tube-feeding them?
