Yep! I actually saw a little can of metal salts at the hardware store that was meant for making colorful bonfires. I'd avoid the lead and barium though because they're quite toxic

Fe(III)chloride makes a beautiful greenish to blue color that always reminds me of Harry Potter. Very pretty to try out :)
