Glad the video was useful for you. Yakima products are great and must be in high demand. I've had the side bars on order since June and still not arrived...hopefully they will in a couple of weeks. Wishing now I'd just got them last year when I bought the rack.

Great tutorial, I have the same truck so it helped to see how that Yakima rack system will go on and function. Much appreciated!

Do the kayaks sit well on top without rubbing the top of your truck? Also getting this setup soon for my Canyon.

Nice work! Any reason you didn't put the front rack closer to the cab?

Oh that's a good question. I never considered putting them more forward. I think I spaced them out as they are because they are the perfect width apart for the kayaks I have. If my kayaks were longer I think I might put the front rack closer to the cab, but for now they are perfectly spaced for my needs.

Thanks for the video. I've seen some with the same Retrax that have mounted this Yakima and mentioned issues with the rails possibly bending if one over tourqes the bolt. How's yours been?

Hi Anthony. I've had no issue with the rails bending through install and torque on the bolts. Only issue I had which caused bending is going to a car wash and the top washer roller was not deactivated and got caught on the rail bar. The bending as not impacted the use of the tonneau rails or the Yakima rack.

Hello! Fantastic review American Frontier Life, wondering if you could possibly grab a dimension for me off of your setup. I have that exact same truck, and just purchased this rack! I need to know the distance from post to post the closest points to each other (basically where the curve ends on one post, to where the other curve ends on the other post). You would be a lifesaver, i cannot find that dimension anywhere!! Again thanks for the great vid, and your time!

Hey Kyle, sorry for slow reply, with rain and work I've not had time to get out and measure. So the measurement from top curve of one post to other is 35 3/4 inches. The end of the post is not flat and curves so measurement from bottom is 36 1/4 inches. I have the Yakima 60" HD Bars on mine. Hi. Doc Leng...The Yakima site says the Tonneau kit will work with Pace-Edwards UltraGroove. Yakima customer service is very good so I suggest calling them to check on compatibility.

Do you have a list of tonneau covers that the Overhaul hd is compatible with? Good video!

Hi. The Yakima OverHaul and OutPost yakima.com/collections/truck-rack-systems will fit but do need the TONNEAU KIT 1 yakima.com/products/tonneau-kit-1?_ga=2.188715432.1054096179.1631634291-822530587.1631634291 to mount to the Retrax Tonneau cover. I recommend contacting Yakima support if you have further questions...they are very helpful.

What model retrax cover do you have. I have a 2020 Nissan Frontier with a 5' bed.

I've the RetraxONE XR. I got it from Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B07GDPX965?ref_=pe_527950_33920290_dpLink I'm very happy with it. I like that the locking mechanism is on the top so I don't have to open the tailgate to unlock it.

What tonneau cover do you have that has the built in channels?

Driving in heavy rain or going through the car wash some water does get in, mostly on the driver side. I thought I had maybe installed the RetraxOne XR incorrectly, but looking at this Retrax page retrax.com/gate-gasket-seal it seems the problem is caused by a vacuum that is created and it pulls in the water. I am going to get the gasket seal and see if that solves the problem.

Do you sell any Yakima OverHaul HD that does not bring the spare parts when we have Retrax?

Hi, you need the Yakima Tonneau Kit 1 to fit the Yakima OverHaul HD with a Retrax yakima.com/products/tonneau-kit-1 Hopefully you can find one from a reseller near you. I know some Yakima products are hard to find at the moment.

That I don't know, you'd need to check on the manufactures site. I would be surprised if there was not a model to fit the Tundra.

Hi Roy, did you mean rails bending? I've had no issues with the rails and they seem incredibly sturdy. I believe rated to 500lbs on road and 300lbs off road. When I put our two kayaks up there, there is no movement at all. Hope that helps.

American Frontier Life awesome! Thanks a lot for the feed back! I’ve seen a video where a guys bed cover is bent from just having an Overhaul hooked up to the bed cover. Gonna take your word for it though coz the guy in the other video mentioned that he couldn’t tighten the nuts.

Oh interesting. Not come across that video in my research of racks when deciding on the Yakima. I do have the Retrax tonneau cover which probably added some strength to the bed and the Yakima is attached to it's rails.

@@AmericanFrontierLife Those ratings are for the rack itself mounted to bed of the truck, not with the retrax cover and the rail adapters. THat lowers your offroad dynamic to 180ish. It's a shame, I really like this setup but it should be 250 at a minimum, so that I can carry more boats on the rack. The weak point is those little bolts and the rail metal that hold it down.

Hi @XLR8R17, that's a good point, I didn't take in to account the rail adapters. I just checked the instructions for them and you are right, the weight limit is 180lb off-road and 250lb on-road. That's still enough for a roof top tent so very usable off-road.

Hi Long Liu, it's the RetraxONE XR Tonneau Cover. It was $1399 on Amazon smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GDPX965/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but 10% off when I got it. I used the Amazon Card zero percent finance option so am paying for it over 18months. That made the cost more easily managed.
