I was able to visit Skyline Drive, Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Grand Canyon, tundra in Colorado Springs and 180km stretch os Adpen trees. And different caves...So beautiful

Oh, great additions. Yes, the Great Sand Dunes is on our list this year (although Ryan has been before as a kid). And we visit Old Colorado City often. We like the shops and the food is delicious!

Love Skyline Drive. We've done it several times on our motorcycles. So much fun!

Yea this on a motorcycle can be a bit eerie with steep hills on either side an no guard rail. Kinda feels like you are flying. Really cool way to experience it!!

Wow, this video is an absolute treasure trove of information for anyone planning a trip to Colorado! The narrator does an excellent job of highlighting some of the best things to do and must-visit destinations in the state. I particularly enjoyed the detailed descriptions of each location, like Skyline Drive with its hair-raising views and the Glenwood Springs Caves with their magical formations. As a viewer, I appreciate the personal touch and local insights shared by the narrator. This video has definitely inspired me to add these incredible places to my own bucket list. I can't wait to explore the wonders of Colorado!

@@cmo131 drink tons of water before during and after. Take good care of yourself and eat well. Everybody reacts differently. I've lived at 5,000 ft for years and tried to hike at 12000 ft. I still feel crappy a week later.

I lived for 9 years, when I was a young women, in Gunnison, Colorado at 7700 feet and traveled up higher in the surrounding mountains and never got altitude sickness. I knew people who suffered from it though. Not fun for them. Amazingly, I feel better at high altitude. Whenever I go back to Colorado I feel the difference.🤷🏻‍♀️

colorado’s bucket list items are as follows (in this natives opinion) trail ridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park, mesa verde national park, a concert of your choice at red rocks, and of course you cant not stop for food and beer along the way, frankly, drinking and eating after a hike is what we’re best at!

My family are going to see Duran Duran at Red Rocks, which as since turned into a week long trip for my childs 16th birthday in Colorado. I am not even stressed about "great seats" for the concert, the venue is so spectacular, all the seats are amazing. :)

Loved Garden of the Gods! I saw it a few years ago while visiting my brother in Colorado Springs. I lived for 9 years on the Western Slope in Gunnison, Colorado. So I would add the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park to your list. When I lived in Gunnison, it was not yet a national park. Just a state park, I think. It is not as wide as the Grand Canyon, but it is deeper. When reading the railroad history section of book The Gunnison Country, it is unbelievable how a railway was built in the canyon in, I believe, the 1800s.

Million Dollar Highway, southbound from Ooray to Silverton. My favorite scenic drive. Steep drop-offs with no guardrails for 6 miles!

As a 63 yr old native of CO there is so much to see and do in CO, a few other places that come to my mind is OURAY CO, stunningly beautiful & famous for its natural hot springs, access Ouray driving the treacherous, and beautiful mountain road known as the Million Dollar Hwy, U.S. Route 550, one of the most dangerous roads in America due to its narrow lanes, hairpin turns, and steep cliffs. GRAND LAKE CO another beautiful place to visit that has two both Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake which is the largest and deepest natural lake in CO from Grand Lake you can travel onto Estes Park CO on Trail Ridge Road (Hwy 34) in Rocky Mountain National Park, Trail Ridge is slightly more than 12,100 ft in elevation which takes you into Estes Park famous for the Stanley Hotel 👻

I have seen Isak and he is something to behold. It had snowed a little the day that I was there so you did have to be careful walking back to see him.

I remember when you used to be able to drive yourself across Royal Gorge and still have the pictures of it. I the cog rail from bottom to top still there? no mention of it on here.

During the pandemic they allowed people to take their cars and drive across the bridge again! But it was a limited time thing, now the only way is to go on a Colorado Jeep Tour. Yes, actually they do still have the cog railway at the bottom it's called the Royal Gorge Route Railroad if anyone wants to check it out. It can be expensive depending on what time of year or type of seating you purchase.

I love Skyline Dive near Canon City. Great Locations

There is so much to see in Colorado, but I get a little afraid of heights. I went up to Pike's Peak on the train ride. It was amazing with all the views, but when I was at the summit and looked down I was getting a little anxious. I also went to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park. That was cool because I like nature. I saw a lot of animals such as the elk herds, the wild goats, beavers building a dam on a creek, and a fox running across a field. Those goats are amazing. I saw them climb right up a cliff face and I was wondering how on earth can they do that so easily. Oh! And in Rocky Mountain National Park there a few ponds (lakes?) where there are fishermen trying to catch something.

Damn shame to let irrational fear keep you from enjoying life. Keep pushing that irrational fear and it’ll go away with time. Worst thing to do with irrational fear is to give in to it. There is healthy fear where when you see a grizzly you should def be afraid. Then there is fear where most people would say there is no risk or danger. That’s the fear I’m talking about. Where you know you shouldn’t be afraid but you are. Used to be terrible getting on a roof. Did it anyway enough times and now it’s easy. Just push a little farther each time. Next step is skydiving (ugh now that’s terrifying).

While it is hard to distill all the things to do in Colorado down to 5 I think Rocky Mountain, Mesa Verde, and Great Sand Dunes National Parks should have been included. There are probably several dozen places and sites in the state that would be considered world class.

Other wonderful places to visit in Colorado are also just driving through Glenwood Canyon along I-70. There are several places to stop and gawk. Also the cog railway up to the top of Pike's Peak is wonderful (though a little expensive), the road drive up to Pike's Peak, the "million dollar highway" from Ouray south to Durango, the sand dunes park, dinosaur digs way up in the northwest corner at the town of Dinosaur, trail ridge road from Estes Park to Grand Lake, the Grand Lake area itself with the beautiful views,, roaming around up on the Grand Mesa especially with the wonderful view from land's end, and of course the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park!

YES!! One of our favorite scenic drives is going through Glenwood Canyon (we talk about it in our Glenwood Springs video!). These are awesome suggestions. Many of them we visit every year when we get the chance. RMNP is also one of our faves!

Very cool! Colorado is on my fave list of states to hang at💜I dunno how I missed the hog back trail on the skyline drive, I stayed near Canon city 💜 super cool caves I haven’t checked out. The others I’ve seen. Are you guys fulltime travelers? Or do you have a home base?

You can stay at Mountain View RV Resort, which is conveniently located between Skyline Drive on the east and the Royal Gorge Bridge Park with many beautiful hiking biking trails on the west. You will find in this resort some great RV sites, cabins, a camp store, clean shower & laundry facility , and also a playground as well. The owner and employees are quite nice and helpful. Within a mile of this RV resort, You can also find several restaurants and services like helicopter tour, zip-line tour, whitewater rafting etc. Highly recommend.

Wow! If this is your bucket list - you've never really seen Colorado. Some of these are great visits, like Garden of the Gods, but Royal Gorge is a tourist money pit. I can think of many other must see locations in Colorado.

We have many other things on our Colorado bucket list but these are definitely some of our favorites. We enjoy going to the Royal Gorge all times of the year, not just during tourist season. Thanks for watching.

Again no mention of the Black Canyon. That place is fantastic! It puts Royal Gorge to shame. I like it better than the Grand Canyon. It is 2,400 feet deep and cut in to granite. So it is extremally steep. This is often rated as one of the top ten under appreciated national parks in the nation.

Hellllooooo from Ouray! What a great list; thank you for sharing it! The main item that I wasn't aware of is the Skyline Drive by Canon City. We have a trip to Colorado Springs in about 3 weeks. Instead of the South Park way, we will take the Arkansas River way and incorporate this small detour. Safe travels!!

If you like skyline Drive, be sure to check out the million Dollar highway. If you like that, rent a jeep and go try black bear pass. I guarantee you you’ll reach your level of thrills somewhere along that continuum.

When you live in Canon city(1 mile away from skyline drive) and work at the royal goerge bridge🙂

Bishops Castle is a must . Fantom canyon is also awesome. box canyon in ouray Colorado, the wet mountains , & the sand dunes in San Isabella national Forest. non of these suggestions you didn't even mention. If you want to learn about things to do in Colorado ask a native Colorado resident , someone who knows the places off the beatin path, the places that few either know about or go . their is so much more that could be mentioned, the best places are found stumbling upon them , my girlfriend used to point the vehicle in a certain direction & see where the journey took us .

Since half the states in the US now allow the sale of recreational marijuana, CO isn't the destination for weed like it used to be. Now pot is just kinda just another state in a line of others that allow it. 🤷

I think you’re talking about the lazy river at the Hot Springs pool in Glenwood Springs. This one is amazing for a family while Iron Mountain hot springs is more romantic for couples.

In Hawaii they would make Skyline drive go both directions

Alpine Tunnel Road in Colorado is a two way road and super scary with a deep and steep drop off. I drove it with my family as passengers. I lived in the mountains of Colorado for 9 years as a young adult and have been on some scary narrow dirt roads there. Skyline Drive looked rather scary until he said it was a one way road. Then it seemed normal.😅

Yes, absolutely! You can plan a road trip through the state and get anywhere within about 6 hours. So if you start in one spot and travel over a week it's definitely doable with plenty of time to see the sights! :)

Yes, that is the lazy river at the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort & Lodge in Glenwood Springs, CO.

If you wanna see something really cool check out Bishops Castle in Rye Colorado. And Hopefully when u go u can meet me mr bishop him self. 👍👍

Mmmm that would have been a good addition to this last. Bishop Castle is pretty wild when you look around at everything. The architecture is like Dr Seuss came to life haha.

Right, they generally do not allow vehicles across the bridge anymore except for special occasions, like the holidays. Or unless you book a Jeep tour or something.

Colorado has so many things to do that are worth mentioning. It would probably take a 3 hour video to get through them all.

All of them. Every seasons in CO is known for something. If you want to enjoy some snow and maybe do a bit of skiing, winter. If you want to hike without worry for bad weather, july-sept. All seasons are worth visiting CO tho!

@@devilsmaycry9877 Denver International Airport is likely the most convenient and cheapest airport due to having so many flights come in and out every day. The region airports, like Colorado Springs, will be easier if you are visiting those cities but cost a bit more time and money (with layovers in Denver anyway). Hope this helps!

Being a Colorado Native my "Epic Things to Do in Colorado in 2023" list would have aprox. 35 - 40 items on it. For Example: Hiking/climbing: Devils Causeway, Manitou Springs Incline "Stairway To Heaven" or Longs Peak. Drive through Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Will Rogers Shrine Of The Sun, and The Horns. Or Perhaps the Million Dollar Highway for a hot springs soak. 4X4ing to the towns of Marble and Chrystal and explore the Marble Mine or drive to the Victor Cripple Creek open pit gold mine overlook. Or Lands End Road on the Grand Mesa. If you like Geography travel to the 4 corners and try to find all 4 of the markers, The actual 4 corners marker has moved a bit as technology advanced with improved Geosynchronous Tech.*-)

Wow, these are such great bucket list ideas! Fantastic list, thanks so much for sharing. There are so many more we would love to add, but then it would be a 5-hour long video. :) Victor/Cripple Creek is a fav of ours, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and several others you named as well. In the summer it's always very busy, but if you visit in the off season, like fall or winter it's much less crowded. I hike there every month with a friend and it's also about avoiding the main paths to look for the less popular ones.

Ignore this video. Do some research online. The picture they show to lure you to this video is Uncompahgre Pk, the 6th highest point in CO and is a beautiful hike. Bucket list? I guarantee the things shown on this video are near the bottom of any experienced CO travelers bucket list.

Looks like a beautiful state but there are some super high crime rates. Colorado Springs sounds like one big crime riden 💩 hole. Honestly, the only thing I have heard about springs is terrible. Car theft alone up like 90% from '19-'21. No thanks, too many other less violent places in US.

It seems that crime rates are up all over the country unfortunately. Beautiful places draw lots of people, with different backgrounds and histories.

Colorado is very beautiful. Would not recommend moving here though. It's slowly turning into LA up here. Please just stick to Texas and Florida.

In some places in Colorado it has gotten very busy but there are still parts of the state that locals love and are less touristy. And there is plenty of room to enjoy the American dream in any part of the US!

45years in Colorado and never heard of skyline drive. Glenwood cavern adventure park same thing. Royal gore park is the biggest tourist trap. Not impressed with any of these bucket List items except Garden of the Gods

@@HashtagColoradoLife While the road is in far worse shape above 12000 feet at Mt Evans, it gave it more of an "adventure" feel. Drove up both places in 3 day span.

Neither do we! This is why we started Hashtag Colorado Life as it's a resource for both natives to explore the state (who have lived here for years and years) as well as newcomers.

have done them all I'm 65 now and i wouldn't give ya a nickel for anything in Colorado ! the state has been over run with idiots and arrogant asshats. traffic is insanely slow and dangerous. prices are outrageous. nothing to see here, keep moving along.

@@ColoradoMadeSteven after having lived in Colorado all my life (born and raised!) I agree that the state has grown over the years. There's a lot more traffic which leads to more crowds. But there are good things too. There are more jobs available and the tourism industry is booming, which is great for our state. While a lot of people think it sucks it's just cause they don't like change.
