LESSON OVERVIEW:
This video focuses on students practicing blending colors directly on the paper, and creating smooth transitions to represent each part of the color wheel.
While students are at work, teachers can go over:
PRIMARY Colors- Red, Yellow, Blue
SECONDARY Colors-Orange, Green, Purple
TERTIARY Colors-Red/Orange, Yellow/Orange, Yellow/Green, Blue/Green, Blue Violet and Red Violet.
*Sounds like (Tersh-ee-airy) the “ish” colors like Greenish Blue
The video covers when to change paint water, and the importance of keeping warm and cool colors separate, and how to tell which colors, like the 2 blues for example, go in what order on the color wheel.
Students practice Drawing their name in block letters, Shading using mixed media, Cutting multiples out of layering paper, Tracing perfect circles, and the joy of Composition in arranging their own cut-out pieces, and adding finishing touches.
The 3-D Folded pocket and this Bubbly Colorful Caterpillar spilling over the page edge, gives a fresh spin to often flat painted projects, and a creative way to practice painting the color wheel.
