What if primary colour light lit on secondary colour object?

Cyan objects would absorb Red light. Y objects would absorb B light. M objects would absorb G light. The object would appear black or the color of the light it is illuminated with.
On Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Greenjeans never wore green jeans, so would he absorbe red, or yellow?
