COLOR CORRECTION | LIFTING OUT LEVEL 3 HAIR COLOR

Color Correction Time! Processes's like this one can be scary and time consuming, but also a great learning experience and a lot of fun. We lifted her hair from a level 3 to a level 6, then added in lighter extensions to give it a balayage affect. What did you think?! Very pretty! Thankful for these types of videos because clients think their hair can go from dark to light light blonde in one sitting and there's so much that goes into it! So much time and hair color! It's a multiple step process and this came out so beautiful!

For color corrections like this I love using the Pravana color remover! It will lift the same as your bleach wash did, maybe even more, but won't effect her regrowth in any way! It only takes out oxidative dyes and is was less damaging to the hair then lightener is (even as a wash 🙃)

I really like it too, but you definitely have to make sure it’s completely out (10v. Wash after shampoo) otherwise you have to formulate several shades lighter than your desired level.

Hey Jessi, i LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Ive used the bleach wash technique several times and never had that great of results, but have you ever tried pravana artificial color extractor? It is AMAZING what that stuff can do and its super easy and NOT damaging at all! The only con is that it doesnt smell very good, but the best thing about it is if you get it on the natural hair- it doesnt lift it one bit! If you havent tried it yet- you should!

Actually, ive had results where the hair came out healthier afterwards believe it or not. Watch guy tang and graveyard girls first video, i believe he uses the P.A.C.E. and they talk about how much better the hair feels. Personally i always incoorporate OLAPLEX in my highlighting like Jessi did, so the hair is SOOO much better afterwards.

Do you have experience with Pravana artificial color extractor? It’s one of my most favorite things to use. It’s doesn’t lift the natural color, which is nice. You can also use it up to 3 times in one visit. I used it on my client, which I had an oppsie with and she had super light ends and level 5 roots, and it lifted the muddy off her ends and evenly lifted her base to like a level 7 Irish red! I was surprised. Every color correction is different, so it’s hard to say what would have worked better in this case... the end result is gorgeous!!!

As a fellow hairartist, the result was very pretty at the end. How ever what i would have done differently was use a color remover before the bleach so you don't hit the roots. And i would have let the ends get a little lighter because as we know ash tones can look a level to two levels darker so a six can look like a 5 or a 4.5. But considering the circumstances of it being a color correction she did lift pretty decently. Great job xoxo

I’m a licensed cosmetologist and my mother’s hair keeps yellow under tones no matter what and I tried a lavender moon toner from sallys to fix the brassiness but it turned gray. How can I fix it? It has a light warm tone on the roots, a darker blonde warm tone on mid shaft, then it’s gray on the rest. 😭

  • @cosmic_creepus

I think if it were me I would have done an in between process after the bleach wash and before the color. I would have toned with a 7ash or ash neutral. That way it had more of an even color before the color application, so the color is even and there isn’t any splotches from the root being so much lighter. & that way as well you could do your root afterward and do a few balayage pieces to break up the color on the bottom & help it blend w the extensions. I tend to go over board on color corrections tho 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol. Your end result was beautiful though.

Aziza 87 i believe your problem is that your hair is SO empty of pigment, your hair just doesnt want to hold onto anything. You should try doing an OLAPLEX treatment to repair and multiply bonds, then use a Demi-Permanant color as a filler, then apply your permanent color ontop(using OLAPLEX each process). Anyone else have any other suggestions?

If your grays are not covering use the same color as before but 1 shade darker and use 1 level higher developer (if you are using 10 use 20 instead if you are using 20 use 30) and really made sure you are saturating every hair with color. Also make sure that you are mixing the color exactly right and not just guessing at the measurements. Hope it helps!

Test1 \test2 some people want a change. I'm a level 4/5 and I dyed my hair 1n. Why? Because I was in a play and I wanted a change. (I got sick of black though and now it's an extremely blended level 8-10 highlight and levels 4-6 lowlights ... It looks better than it sounds )

That's not even the same hair wow you could tell she wasn't happy why don't you try to actually try for your sister instead of always having to be on top which it's obvious to everyone what you did

Looks bad. No melting between roots and balyage. Also no transition in the Balyage to bright lighter tips.

Test1 \test2 she said she hasn’t finished and is going to go back and balayage her sisters hair and like blend the extension colours in to her hair better with the balayage etc. she didn’t say it in them exact words but I can’t remember exactly what she said but it was along them lines. I think it looked nice in the end photo though and the colour turned out good.

Color correction usually never turns out exactly what your desired look is. It's a process. She is gonna do a balayage on her once her hair rests a little.

Her work is beautiful with or without extensions. I'm sure the clients that gets extensions ask for them. How is that cheating? And cheating who?

Very nice end result! is there much difference in using a bleach wash vs. a color remover when doing color corrections?

Yajaira Bleach wash because color removers you usually have to do 3-4 times and it hair has a memory so it always goes back dark after you put color back over it.
