Hey thanks for making this video I really learned a lot I’ve been struggling so much with log footage and I recently discussed with Sony the loss of detail and sharpness shooting in a log 3 and they told me it shouldn’t be any loss in sharpness of detail so thank you for confirming I’m not crazy

Ok, excellent information. As a stills photographer I was used to programs that would create a profile from the color card. This is very helpful. Getting the number right on the histograms is important, but it is critical to have a calibrated monitor for those subtle changes you mentioned. Thanks for the info.

Nicely done. You gave me one piece to the puzzle I was looking for. I'll use this as a reference for the future. I should get one of those xrite video colour charts, but so often I am outside and just shooting and learn to balance off what's in the background. I also try to get my son wearing stuff I can balance against ;)

I used to wear grey something as a safety to colour balance as well! Using the skin as a starting point to balance a shot was the only thing that was consistent from scene to scene. Thanks for the compliment and the comment Simon!
