Colonel Strong Vincent's Lasting Impression On Little Round Top
Ойын-сауық
"I will take the responsibility to take my brigade there."
One of the earliest markers on the Gettysburg battlefield is an inscription marking the location where Strong Vincent was wounded on July 2, 1863 Little Round Top. Similar inscriptions or painted text marked other rocks around the battlefield before the monumentization of the park.

Rest in Peace Colonel Vincent. He was only 26 when he died.
A salute to the brave men of New York, Pennsylvania, Maine and Michigan atop Little Round Top.
Thank you very much.
Outstanding! Thank you again for another obscured detailed history fact of the battle and it's soldiers and civilians. It brings them back to life.

Thank you so much!
I attended Strong Vincent High School here in Erie, Pa
A true hero in every sense of the word. His wife, Elizabeth, gave birth to Blanche in Sep of 1863. Sadly, little Blanche died a few weeks before her 1st birthday in Sep. 1864. Elizabeth never remarried and remained with the Vincent family the rest of her life, primarily with his brother, Bishop Boyd Vincent, doing work with the church.
Thank you for doing these videos. It is appreciated.

His mothers name was Sarah Ann Strong. Common of the time, he has is mothers maiden name used as his first. Often it’d be a middle name but none of Strong’s siblings or himself had a middle name
All good but, Tim the best👍🇺🇸
