It was actually REALLY GOOD!!! I did my first “1 on 1” in 1980. I was 15 years old and worked in a clothing store. Disco was on the way out and Rap Music had just started. Rick James, George Clinton was FUNKY!!! The “Thing” was Cocaine and Champagne. The Coke was light and fluffy. It wasn’t Racy and you didn’t get all weird. I remember feeling like I was “on top of the world”. We would dance until the sun came up and after we partied, we’d go out for breakfast. Yeah, that was the beginning of the 1980’s. By the 1990’s, people were “cooking that come up and smoking it”, at First. Eventually it came down to buying it already “cooked” with whatever the dealers decided to cut it with. This was the beginning of the end of any “FUN”!!! Now it’s in and out of jail and rehab. People went from looking good, dressed nice and fashionable, to (for some, not all) looking like the walking dead. Someone you knew who was the sharpest, coolest and most popular person in high school, ended up looking like a character out of “The Walking Dead”!!! The sad part is, Everyone was potentially susceptible to this transformation. No one knew they’d become addicted, but, like “Pukie” from “New Jack City”, “that shit be calling you and calling you and calling you”. Pukie said, “You use to be the Prom Queen and now you the Prom Fiend”. Lots of families were DESTROYED during the 80’s and 90’s. Grandmothers would put up their homes to get their grandkids out of jail, only for the kid to go on the run and the grandparents ended up loosing the homes they worked so hard to get. Generation pushed back by a drug that grabbed you by the nuts and squeezed until you were hoarse from screening your head off. Yeah, it started off really good and ended up ripping the heart out of many families. Drugs can be “Fun” at first, but, that’s the lie and once you go for that lie, it’s only a matter of time before you are under its control and at its mercy and it has NO MERCY. As corny as this may sound, if a young person asked me if they should “Try” Coke or Dope”, I’d sincerely tell they, “JUST SAY HELL NO”!!! It’s not worth the time it takes out of your life, that’s only if it doesn’t KILL YOU FIRST!!! Be well.

@@FreeSlatt722 For about the 1st ten years or so, the cocaine traffickers were a hodgepodge of independent entrepreneurs. The drug didn't have the negative connotations it has now. In fact, it was considered relatively harmless within the USA itself. The coco plant wasn't part of the Colombian culture. It had been grown in Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Crack as we know it wasn't a thing. So yes, in those early times many ordinary Colombians didn't view the traffickers as bad people. Remember Eric Clapton's song "Cocaine?". It was viewed as the "harmless" drug of choice for the elites within the USA. Between the early 70s and 80s. That began to change when crack came on to the scene in America and the USA put a lot of pressure on the Colombian government to stop the flow. The Cartels began their all out war on the government and thousands of innocent Colombians were killed as collateral damage. That's when the people understood the huge mistake they made and how they totally misjudged these traffickers. Public opinion turned against them. What followed were several decades of utter terror and chaos for the country. Most Colombians hate this legacy and wish that they could forget this part of the country's history. There's a sense of shame and blame for having been so naive about this illicit business. Nowadays, drug traffickers looked upon as "Ratas". Scum. No one wants to be labeled a narco. Times change amigo.

My cousin is a lawyer in Mexico. He told me that one of his professors in the University used to be a prison warden and had a narco boss as a prisoner. He told them why he became a professor and left the job of prison warden. The story goes that the narco boss wanted a few days out to go to some family function and sent the warden a messenger 2 times and both times was denied. On the third visit they sent the warden a large box. It was the wardens son chopped in pieces and placed in the box as a reminder of who he was dealing with. There is a saying in Mexico when the cartel is involved. It goes “ plata o plomo” it means silver or lead.

I know the history very well and have read extensively on these topics alot of bloodshed and violence could have been avoided.. at the end it was all for nothing I mean look at all the corruption now still.....smh
