I know its pretty obvious in hindsight; but Kola really should have started with Cloud. Respect trying the Soul character first though

No hate on Onin. Hate the game not the player, but Kola is absolutely miles ahead of him in raw skill. You can tell that Acola has really good fundamentals but Onin doesn’t seem to have that
@bluyu

His fundamentals are fine. Better than anyone in this comment section's, at least. I'm not even a Steve player, but most of his decisions were pretty good. Sure, he may be a bit boosted by Steve, but it's not that he's a bad player. He has has the recognition needed to play at a top level. Onin isn't bad. He's actually really good. Acola's just on an entire other level.

@@RuneTacticss bro he’s been dropping sets to Steve, Kazuya, and I’m not sure if this is still the case but also the Aegis, and I have yet to see him get a win on Shadic. I just feel like FP2 especially is just pushing him to the wayside and he’s losing the respect he deserves
@RuneTacticss

@@CipherKnighto I think its a Kola problem imo. Flow has been beating Space really consistently (Aegis), and Alice in Japan does well against Steves, even beating Acola pretty handily before. Goblin also does oddly well against Steves. Kola even would've beaten Onin if he didn't get himself killed 3 times. If you watched enough gameplay, you'd see how Kola holds in a lot and doesn't play patient, and if you watch carefully you can see this is how Shadic wins, he stands there and uses Corrin's big sweeping aerials to hit anyone who rushes and mashes buttons. Corrin WANTS you to run in and Shadic takes advantage of this to the max, which is why he wins so often because most people just hold in. Recent example, look at Kola vs Lima and Goblin vs Lima, its complete night and day and of course in those sets Kola kept rushing in and mashing and lost because of it, but Goblin played super patient and won because of it. What people don't understand is that in a lot of MUs, especially the more meta relevant ones you need to play Roy patiently but there's this stigma that Roy has to run in and mash buttons when in reality, he can play just as well by playing patient. Another great example of patient Roy working is Goblin vs Tea at Ult Summit 4, Pac Man is a MU you have to play patiently. Recently Kola has actualy improved on it a tiny bit and played very slightly more patient at some points which really helped at some points in this tourney so maybe he's learning. You need to know when to step on the gas, and when to put on the brakes. Now Kazuya is a very real problem, but only against people who can 0td consistently which the few top players that play him can do so, so yeah that sucks. Kazuya imo is the only real "Meta" problem (Even though he doesn't show up often) but you really don't see a 0td Kazuya that often, only a few tourney players can do it consistently.

@@RuneTacticss despite this being a huge wall of text just reading the first few lines gives me some hope. Thanks for that man. I just felt like it was a morale crusher seeing some of the sets Kola dropped and seeing Roy drop 11 spots on the new tierlist
@RuneTacticss
4 ай бұрын
@@CipherKnighto The tier list isn't a big deal, for some reason there was this big "Roy sucks" and "Roy is mid tier" movement going on that people were oddly obsessed with but its been dying down in recent times. It doesn't really make sense to me, he was #6 in results for 2023 and people still said "He had no results" and 2023 was probably his worst year. It'll only go up from here. I don't know if you watch Flow, but he's been going crazy with Roy and he's like a mix of Goblin and Kola. Kola seems to be getting back into the groove of things and I think he learnt some important things this tourney, but if not, Flow also has a lot of potential. Also if you wanna feel better, just look at Zomba and Rob. He's been dropping sets like crazy after he won that tournament, and almost everyone agrees that Rob is top 5.
