College Trump Fan Tries To Get Dreamer Classmate Deported

Trump has emboldened not only fellow racists but also fellow bullies. Also, racist bullies. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. www.tytnetwork.com/join
"A student at Transylvania University says the school refused to help her after she was targeted on Facebook by a fellow student because of her status under an Obama-era policy that allows the children of undocumented immigrants to stay in the United States for school and work.
In a tearful six-minute video posted to KZread on Sunday, Transy senior Paola Garcia said fellow student Taylor Ragg posted a picture of her Facebook profile, saying, “Everyone go report this illegal at my school bragging about breaking the law.” The profile shows Garcia under a picture of President Donald Trump, which says “Not My President.””*

She was 2yo when she was brought into the country. If you're gonna deport her, it might as well be to the moon. Also, life's not fair,

    fai365day I had a stalker for many years. Many, many times I had to explain to third parties who contacted me at his behest that doing so was illegal per the protections granted to me under the restraining/stalking orders. None of them knew that, and they almost all seemed pretty upset that while *they* didn't know that, *he* certainly did. It's pretty standard in restraining/stalking orders that the abuser cannot ask, direct, or suggest a third party contact the victim for any reason. This is because the courts recognize that inviting others to harass you is still harassment *the abusers* are responsible for. My point being that there are already cases and precedents that directed harassment is still harassment even though others are following up on it, not you. So it's doubtful this guy can claim innocence successfully. Remember also that a certain California inmate is serving life in prison for directing others to murder on his behalf. He didn't do it himself...yet behind bars he remains.

    JCGrantatAC Guess what? As a Dreamer, she's not illegal, just undocumented until she completes the program, which allows her to stay legally as long as she follows the strict requirements the program sets. On top of that, you accuse her of "ghetto chaos", while dreamers are held strictly to the program to complete a post-secondary education, get a steady, sustainable job, and maintain having no criminal record of any kind to earn their green card; which is a lot more proven usefulness and benefit to America than some American citizens and legal immigrants have. If you don't know the facts behind why she's here and what a Dreamer is, try to hold back on the racist assumptions.

    Zz Zz More strawman arguments. Anything to attack white people as a whole. When ever we get a news story about a particularly shitty white person, they become the representation for the whole race. And anyone who takes issue with that is immediately silenced by being called a racist for even entertaining the idea of racism against whites or get told that "It's okay because white people do it to other races all of the time!" I, a white male, frequently got questioned by campus security about why I was on campus. I go accosted by then one day while sitting outside my lab after walking to school. Someone seen me walking with my backpack and "was concerned" and called them. Someone walking to a college campus with a backpack? Why, thats unheard of! (Sarcasm) This type of thing happened to me more than once. Is that the supposed "white privilege" we supposedly all enjoy? How do you think that same interaction would have went over if I were a black guy? There would be protests to get that security guard fired. And, no, I don't have a criminal record. There was no reason for them to suspect me of anything. I was an honor student. Things like this happen all of the time. Except when it happens to a non-white person it's read as bigotry and the hive mind makes believe that whites are exempt from similar scrutiny.

  • @RoccosVideos

    Yes, there has been lots of advancements in medicine since Ellis Island. You do realize they were looking for things like lice that are easily treated today. 20-30 cases of tuberculosis a year is minuscule in a country of 325 million. Should we ban travelers to the US as well to avoid disease? What about Americans coming home from abroad? You can treat TB, it's just difficult to treat. You need to take antibiotics for a long time. TB is already very common in the US in the homeless, medical profession, and prison populations. People do not just get it from immigrants, so preventing them from coming into the country won't make it go away. There's also a dormancy period with TB so many people don't have symptoms for years. They would assess English skills of people coming from Poland, Italy, Russian, etc on Ellis Island? You're just making stuff up. My great grandfather was from Portugal and came through Ellis Island, he didn't even know one word in English when he arrived. Most immigrants from non English speaking countries didn't speak English when they arrived and they all assimilated. What job skills do you think they had when immigrating? Do you think Ellis Island was full of doctors and lawyers? They were filling the same jobs that need to be filled now. American won't do seasonal farm work, on average Americans last a couple days. They would look at your cultural background? What is that even suppose to mean? Of course there hasn't been a complete stop of immigration but people come here illegally because they can't get here legally. What about children that grow up here, they're culturally American, what's the point in making them leave?

    sonoki82 Your first statement renders your entire argument moot. She is currently still under the protection of DACA, so she is not illegal. Did you attend college? I did, a private college. First, I had to show proof of citizenship. Secondly, it absolutely is against the rules of the college to harass fellow students. Even if harassment wasn't explicitly enumerated in the school's contract, it is illegal by law, and therefore included in the school's statement regarding failure to live up to the standards of the school. Lastly, as to this argument that he had every right to point out her illegality, I would suggest you research the term scienter as it refers to criminal law. At the very least, even if his actions don't rise to the level of a criminal act, they certainly violate civil law. If you want to learn more, I suggest you research intentional tort. Google's online legal dictionary is a reliable source and it's free.

  • @mawpat4665

    @mawpat4665

    sonoki82 Your pathetic attempt to insult me personally is not only ineffective, but reveals an obvious inability to put forth any substantive argument. I personally had to provide proof of citizenship, because I'm a citizen. International students require an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant Students. If she is neither a citizen nor international student, then she is protected by DACA. Whether or not she will continue to be protected by DACA in 6 months is irrelevant. Feel free to research this for yourself. Secondly, he did not simply report her to law enforcement. Reporting someone you suspect to be here illegally is fine. However, once the situation is investigated and closed, continued reporting becomes harassment. But he went even further than that. He posted her information on a group page instigating and promoting harassment. His intentionality is evidenced, among other things, by his choice of forum. Lastly, while Law and Order is an entertaining show, I draw my conclusions based upon 20 years experience in the legal field. In short, your insults are lame (at best), your feeble arguments fail, and you're embarrassing yourself. Take a seat and let the grown ups talk.

    Lourenco Almada I find that a little hard to believe, given the sheer amount of people from Eastern Europe and the Balkans that come back and forth to the Tristate area with little to no documentation and are never stopped. And those are just the ones we all commonly know about. I've heard from people that actually canvass for citizenship status that there's supposedly thousands of undocumented Irish and a few Italians and English running around with no papers. My friend entered illegally from Poland about 15 years ago. His family used to steal cable, cheat on their taxes and piss the neighbors off something fierce - all in a quiet suburban town. Yet despite being the very definition of undesirable aliens, they not only received citizenship, but they were able to become school employees in a very well off district, join the union, and eventually start their own business. And now apparently they're hosting a bunch of their relatives to do the same for them. This a personal anecdote, to be sure, but I've heard enough of them at this point to believe the system sets a consistent precedent of not being enforced fairly.

A Dreamer quitely and peacefully working hard and contributing to society is of zero harm to this guy yet he's so caught up on the mere principle of what we've chosen to declare as legal. We can choose otherwise. She is in a VERY delicate situation, her life dangling by a thread. So Raggs thought he would get some shits and giggles from torturing her. Thankfully she knew to reach out to the public for support. The university's administration was probably kicked into gear not by Paola, but by outside pressure to force the university to help her. I think Raggs was invited, firmly, to leave. Thank goodness, as he is more than likely not the sort of student the university would want to be associated with.
