I think just cause of all the fog no one could really see why they had to call the penalty in the first place. Made sure the home Florida crowd knew how badly Wilson had fucked up and not just the refs calling a silly penalty

That kick from LSU has to be one of the most impressive in recent memory. With the conditions and all the fog and a road environment I'm still wondering how the kicker managed to see the goalpost.

What's closest to a natty pre bcs? Highest finishing poll position, or erasing a loss to go undeafeted, or just a few tweaks? Bc we have to remener going undeafeted didn't guarentee a natty back in the day, even at a power 5 level. And how do we count split titles? There were like 4 split titles in the 90s pre bcs alone

Or as is the case for the last season, Oregon shouldn't have even been in the Pac-12 championship AT ALL. Washington won the North Division and had to sit out because of COVID. Oregon meanwhile lost to Oregon State earlier in the season.

For the '19 conference championship, even if Utah had somehow won, they would've gotten destroyed in the first round. They had been coasting off a super weak Pac 12 South and were ranked WAY too high

As an Ole Miss fan, losing that way to Auburn with Treadwell was brutal, but it was amazing seeing that injured team rally and take down Mississippi State at home and ruin their best season ever

They are in the same confrence and division as two teams who consistently make it to the playoffs or are 1 game short the times they miss. Alabama and ohio state. So they get a shot every year. Also SEC and big 10 have more playoff contenders than the confrences with only one big fish like oklahama and clemson.

Yeah I was there in 2014, such a tragic play to happen in the single best football game I’ve ever seen in person, and Ole Miss never got that close to the playoff again, though they did come together and rally later that year to knock off Mississippi State. Really it wasn’t necessarily that play that destroyed Ole Miss, but after the 2015 top-10 Sugar Bowl win season their program tanked due to lack of position recruiting, bad coaching, and the Hugh Freeze and NCAA debacle that essentially hammered that program up until Lane Kiffin has started to turn things around, but yeah the Treadwell play was crushing

The real reason the NCAA hammered Ole Miss was because they beat Bama twice in a row. Can't have anyone doing that to our sacred cow.

I'm still mad at ASU for that. Although I've simmered down since, I'm not sure how much I'm ready to start rooting for them again (as I do with every Pac-12 team, including the Huskies). 2019 was a very good year to run the tables with Herbert. As much as I dislike Ohio State, at least a loss tomorrow means we could still run the table, unless we get absolutely exposed as a pretender.

If 2017 Miami hadn’t lost to Pitt, they would’ve had a good enough SOS that they would’ve probably made it in even with a loss to Clemson like 2020 ND. The committee doesn’t move the goalposts, it’s just that every year is completely different.

@@Stoneador even then, Ohio St had already been all but eliminated with the blow out loss to Iowa. The most ridiculous part of that session was two kids Auburn also being a threat until the SEC championship loss to Georgia. Plus, that year also had the insane UCF team that hung a banner celebrating a national title.

@@Stoneador Alabama’s best win that year was against a four loss Auburn team. In hindsight too, the Big Ten dominated bowl games that year too. So, Wisconsin actually had a good strength of schedule. All I’m saying is that we should keep the criteria consistent. Either a loss in a championship game puts you on the outside looking in or it doesn’t matter. I’m not arguing that Wisconsin should’ve made it. I’m arguing that the Aggies should have.

You should definitely make a part 2 of this.

I’m an Iowa fan and I was just waiting for that game to show up. That was the longest most soul crushing drive of my life. I still remember the life getting sucked out of me with every third down conversion.

I was at the game and it was ALL Iowa in the stands. Felt like an away game for sparty and the 4th down conversion into that drive as well as LJ putting the team on his back, it was something magical.

That MSU drive against Iowa was ridiculous. As I recall, it was about a 22 play, 10 minute drive, and they had to have the TD down 4, and got it. Reminded me of ND under Lou Holtz, running for 3 and 4 yard gains, grinding out first downs and killing most of the 4th quarter.

Go green baby miss those days

That 2015 Michigan State team needed a lot of little things to go their way to make it to the playoff. First was that three point home win against Oregon where the Ducks failed on 4th down three times. Then in October the Michigan punter mishandling the snap on the final play, then a month later making a game winning field goal against Ohio State. Finally the 22 play, 9 minute drive to beat Iowa in the B1G Championship Game.

And OSU would of won if they decided to run durring a game that any other time in history urban would of ran the ball ,but this shit weather game were passing did jack shit. We passed and passed and passed some more. OUR QB had more runs(not counting sacks) than Ezekiel elliot.....

@@warcraftlake7 In that game Ohio State only had five first downs and barely over 100 yards of total offense, plus the Buckeyes were +2 on turnovers and MSU had to use backup QBs.

F..cking GLORIOUS year!!!

As an Ohio native and big Buckeyes fan, those losses to Purdue and Iowa both hurt. But it is all made better by so many sweet victories over TTUN. Much respect to Sparty though as they have given us some really tough games in the last 8 years or so, and as evidenced by this video, stole some championship dreams from Columbus a time or two. I'm just so excited for college football to come back again. I don't really care which teams I'm watching, I just want to watch the greatest sport on the greatest stage. To me, college football has so much more to it than the NFL.

In that 3 year stretch the one rebuilding year was the year we won it all and the two years with start studded rosters we loose to scum st.

As an Auburn guy, I still hate that Georgia game. We had so many injuries after beating number 1 Alabama and number 1 Georgia in the same year.

Honestly as an 11 year old buckeye fan I preferred losing to scum st and having a pissed off buckeyes beat the shit out of scum university. Fuck the playoffs when you can beat the shit out of scum university.

That first one wasn't a "There goes your playoff chances moment". ND's playoff chances went up in smoke the second Oklahoma started routing Oklahoma State. That cemented them as the final spot in the CFP.

5:40 to 6:20 -- Since I am an Ohio State fan, seeing Purdue beat them was hard, but then again they did get basically a pep speech by a student with terminal cancer just before the game. Can't be mad about that. R.I.P. Tyler Trent.

And people have the nerve to say UW or Oreg St. are bigger rivals. Just because of geographical location, or in UW's case; garbage human beings. rivalries should be about what Oregon/Stanford has become in the 21st century.

Look oklahoma and osu for example, ou is currently dominating the rivalry, but the hate the two schools have for eachother is what keeps it as a rivalry and thats the case with several rivalries. The record doesnt always have to be equal, btu the hate for eachother should always be there

That 2016 OSU-UM game was the craziest ref job I’ve ever seen. Everyone talks about the spot but the phantom pass interference call in the end zone was worse. Although I do agree that spot was terrible. This video made me realize just how great the CFP announcing teams are. Some of these calls are iconic.

That loss in the championship game to Georgia was heartbreaking

I love seeing great games that come down to the wire. I also love seeing teams that play like fools with a chip on their shoulders who make stupid decisions causing penalties on themselves, losing the game in the final seconds due to their penalties.

I've always loved the celebration at 0:36. I don't know why. It just looks so cool
