I agree. So many instances where the Al could've made a defensive play but didn't. They chose to sprint along side the ball carrier for several yards when clearly they were in arms length or at least ankle wrap.

But this game is good, and you cannot deny it at this point. He's nitpicking and still getting shit wrong. It's a video game. You shouldn't expect perfection. Not really anything he pointed out was the actual AI it was the user fucking up. Honestly Madden gameplay has never been the biggest issue. Yeah it sucks, but if the game had depth; if it had features, then minor gameplay issues wouldn't matter that much.

The linebacker standing mid field was the user. You could see the circle under the player. When the user switched to the safety thats when the AI tried to correct the linebackers pursuit. I think the rookie difficulty is a large part ofnAI intelligence also

hte tumble weed animation happened because the cpu player was going for a hit stick and his momentum caused him to roll because the Rb ran away from him. The cpu now has the ability to do the same things we can as the player

Imagine glazing EA

Honestly I think Moody (mostly) raises valid criticisms and isn't just "hating" on EA like everyone seems to think. Anybody that has watched the gameplay footage can quickly acknowledge there are still lingering gameplay issues carrying over from Madden (because EA's engine is so animation-dependent and not real-time physics). That being said, at the end of the day, many of us will be buying this game for nostalgia and college atmosphere/off-field features. The gameplay will undoubtedly have typical EA glitches/canned animations that dictate how plays pan out, but hopefully some of these issues will be cleared up in this new era of NCAA football games. Im fully expecting the on-field gameplay to be underwhelming but hopefully tolerable enough that it doesn't ruin the desire to play the game as a whole.

show me nfl or college where the defense is lined up like this on the 5 yard line this is human error but these things do happen in real life with up tempo teams

2:46 so Ryan would prefer every time the CPU attempts a tackle on a user player the CPU should win? 3:46 the user is on the LB so it has nothing to do with the game. 4:07 the defense only had 4 players in the box against 6 and again the LB was a user and missed his tackle so still nothing to do with the game. 4:49 so again you’re only point out user error and nothing wrong with the game but NOBODY on a football field ever has the “job” to guard multiple people at once. 5:31 so now I can’t tell if you’re joking or what but you show a CPU making a good tackle and the user switching on to a player and just diving out the play.

Refreshing to see people actually having fun playing an EA football game. Wish there were more big plays by the defense in these showcases. Always seems like offense is unstoppable and WRs are always wide open on slants/flat routes. Either way, I'm looking forward to a fun football game to replace Madden until EA gets their shit together and shows Madden the same love. Madden 25 trailer looked so bad

I have never seen anyone coached to tackle this way, and I've never seen anyone whiff on a tackle that way. I don't know if you've actually played any football at a high level, but you are taught how to fall in a way that you can get back up again. At no point in time did a coach ever instruct me to try to turn myself into a human bowling ball in an attempt to make a tackle.

Sometimes it’s a shoulder tackle attempt, sometimes a guy loses balance and tumbles forward off balance. Every now and then isnt a problem but if it happens with regularity in game then (for me) it’s an issue. To each his own tho.

I’ve been honest with myself about CFB 25 since the day they announced it was a real thing. The aesthetics, presentation & atmosphere is all completely 100% brand new features and overall look. But we can’t sit here and lie to ourselves and act like they didn’t take the mechanics and gameplay from Madden 24 and just add a few new animations. You can also tell, they up’d the sliders on the game speed and player speed. But outside of a few new animations and slider changes… this is just a reskinned Madden 24. I think the unique features within dynasty will make it a better game than Madden because of recruiting, transfer portals & the CFB playoffs. But RTG, looks just like the Career mode from Madden. Just a few new text messages and cut scenes to switch up the look and story. Overall, I’m not completely upset. But I’ve come to the realization that EA sports does not care about its community or producing a completely brand new game. They say they’ve been working on this game for 5-8 years. Well if that is the truth… why are you guys using THE EXACT SAME gameplay mechanics as a game you released a year ago? Why didn’t you spend more time on creating a brand new gameplay engine. One that is completely separate & different from madden? Hell, they could have took NCAA 2014 and just revamp and update the graphics. & I promise you people would have been more happy with that gameplay and those mechanics over getting the same engine we’ve been playing with for the last 3-4 years on madden. Sad part about it all, if they do this again next year. Not only will the Madden franchise die out… the CFB 25 franchise will die out quickly again too.

To all the madden reskiners,In what way is this a reskin? The gameplay is faster, it’s more stick based, there’s a new passing and kicking meter and the kicking meter and copying, (making mad and a reskin if anything) more in-depth modes, It’s also more customizable, Way better presentation, and more, but I don’t spend my time on idiots so I won’t. I'm happy to see someone break down the gameplay reveal like this. When I watched it earlier this week, I noticed major issues with defensive AI and pursuit angles. These guys played on 3 minute quarters and put up a combined 77 points in one game. I'm hopeful that the full game will be better...but I am approaching with caution.

5:11 I love this. The DBs/safety’s were slow to react cause their heads were turned!!! They aren’t madden ai where they instantly turn around when the ball is thrown. More realistic this way

People don't understand back in the day you could tell the difference between NCAA football and Madden. But when you look at these it's clear that they have the same animation data and programming. Because there is no way you're going to get 10 years worth of animation data within 3 to 4 years of development. All college football 25 is an optimized Madden, and you guys need to accept that. Even the body types and proportions are NFL based proportions. Even know of an animator that works on the game that said not to expect anything different 2 years ago. You guys are being blinded by the meters, U.I.and College simulation Branding. Doesn't mean the game is trash but it's definitely not what you think. For all you guys know you could be playing what you're going to be experiencing with Madden 25.

Not sold. Same truck stick animation. Same nose tackle being moved 8 yards of the ball by a single blocker. New tumbleweed animation that covers up the lack of gang tackling.

Let me tell you like I used to tell my 7 year old when he was younger, "At some point you have to be satisfied and thankful for what you get". For example, we can go to Dave and Busters, get ice cream, and play games for hours, then on the way home he'll ask to go to the park and when you say no, it's water works. That's what you sound like. NOBODY expects this game to be perfect, but if it was you would be the one to find an "issue" lol. Play the game. Enjoy it. There will be a time for criticism and holding EA accountable for fixing certain things.

He has HELLA valid points and has had one for the past 3-4 maddens. Everybody is quick to settle for whatever EA drops just off the fact that we’re desperate enough for a new game other than madden or just another football game in general. They have all the money and resources to make the perfect game but limit themselves every time. Gotta get that company to give you more as a consumer eventually🤷🏾‍♂️

Half the stuff you are pointing out as AI mistakes are users that are then switched off after a mistake. Half of what you say is just complaining that both the players were mediocre at the game.

The tumble weed tackle makes sense to me, donovan edwards is about to be tackled, so the CPU is making an attempt to go low, in attempt to knock him down. The momentum taking him to the ground makes total sense here.

The LB read was user like everyone is saying, also that's not unrealistic. The point of two crossing routes like that is to put the low hole player in conflict and sometimes they do hesitate like that because they don't know which one to cover, there's nothing off about that at all.

Let’s be honest , maddens gameplay wasn’t the problem it’s the lack of a proper career mode/features that keep you hooked for a long time / more attention into ultimate team instead of franchise mode. This game looks to have the gameplay of madden but with all of those features we’ve been missing . If things really are what they seem, I’m sold on this .

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong? There were 4 examples shown here: 1) A CPU player dives and misses during the stiff arm, for no good reason. Ryan is absolutely right about this being bad, although I likely wouldn't have noticed it at speed, playing the game. Good Job Ryan. 2) The MLB covers no one in particular. This is clearly a user bust. 3) The User called a bad situational play. There are three down lineman and what appear to be 2 linebackers (though I'm not sure about the 2 impact players on the defensive right), and of those 5 players 2 are lined up outside of the TE. Not sure what the CPU should be doing here beyond what it does. The left safety makes a nonsense read (which Ryan doesn't mention), but he couldn't have saved the play. This is followed by a user missed tackle. 4) The MLB standing still is a user error, clearly. The DB missing the tackle is also appears to be a user error, it seems like he tried to make a big hit and flicked the right stick in the wrong direction. Not sure what the CPU is supposed to do when users start doing weird stuff like that, but this is about as good a reaction as one can expect.

Game looked good, seemed really fast paced though. I’ll get it eventually, looks leaps and bounds better than Madden

The run blocking and run defense appear to be copy and pasted from Madden. There are defenders with leverage getting sucked into animations and walled off when they shouldn’t, LB’s are shuffling out of their run fits, there are clearly things that are not good. Overall, there are good things. But there are some really bad things. Especially when it’s the EXACT SAME issues we’ve had in Madden for years now.

Thank you! I just made a comment noting the same thing. It also feels like sometimes in the EA video they cut to a pass/action right away, so you wouldn't see the blocking miscues. The game and presentation looks great, but if gameplay is buggy like the gameplay in Madden, it's going to affect people's enjoyment no matter how good it looks.

Then why continue buying Madden? I haven't purchased a football game SINCE NCAA '14 and haven't purchased a Madden since like '10 or '11 because it wasn't good. People bitch and moan about it but then still go out every year and pay $50, $60, and now $70 for a game they hate. Stop paying for it, stop buying it, stop giving them money for trash, and they might just fix something. But what incentive do they have to fix it if they know everyone is just gonna buy the damn thing anyways?

As the foundation, I think this game looks solid. To expect them to completely fix everything in the first iteration of the game isn't realistic. The dev team actually seems to care about making a great game, give them time to work out the kinks.

Can't believe im actually gonna buy an EA football game for the 1st time in 6 years...lol

I was ok with the gameplay. My only compalint though was the FPS. I believe it's 30 FPS not 60 and it looks awful. Other than that not bad but a tad disapointed. Just not as fluid as NCAA 14 or NCAA 06.

The gameplay was on one of the lowest difficulties so you’re going to see a lot of mistakes made by the AI in favor of the user as many of these showcase gameplay videos will be. It would be much fair to criticize if it’s was Heisman difficulty

4:06 Mr Moody claims gamers would be upset if this happened. If you look at pre-snap it's a horrible defensive formation and/or alignment. You have 5 O linemen on 2 interior defenders in the box That actually pose a threat to inside run. The USER actually moved the MLB to the left of the formation, probably trying to stop a motion play. However, if it's Man coverage and the other line backer in the box has the RB on the right going in motion, then he HAS to run with his assignment, which puts him out of position on inside run. Then there was a missed user tackle with a player that should have been in the box before snap

Its a madden 24 reskin as much as they deny it. Same celebration animations & practice mini games, Gear, etc if you watched the creators who had early access & did a road to glory deep dive.

Game looked choppy if I’m being real. They didn’t show enough presentation in the video which has me concerned it’s just cut scenes. Also the players should not be getting juked into other defenders every damn play 😂

I’m confused on how you found it choppy? I saw plenty of issues that were relatively small and some a bit larger but I didn’t think choppiness was the issue. I thought some of the oline blocking had some flaws with how they moved which was one of the larger issues. I thought they moved fairly fast which I actually prefer and think is better personally. I think they moved pretty fluid and fast.

At least half of your criticisms are completely ignoring that the player movement in question is being user-controlled; appreciate an attempt to be more objective but your analysis is still sloppy.

Some of the things you are showing are user errors. I watched it several times so I know I am not wrong. The two tackles coming down #5 is a user click on. A couple others the wide open middle linebacker was user as well. I am with you on the wide ass goal line gap though. Don’t understand that. No way the Big M d line leaving that wide open
