Congratulations! Dentistry is one of the most rewarding and challenging things I’ve ever done. My suggestion is to do the cheapest option with VCU and Penn. I graduated in 2016 with 200k in debt and that was with only dental school debt and it was a state school. I’ll have it paid off with 2 more years, but it’s been HARD to pay off. I know some of my classmates who had to pay out of state prices of 300-400k and they will be in their mid-thirties before they’ll have it paid off. This may be too late of a comment :) also I don’t know why this came up on my main page as a 29 year old woman, but I’m glad it did!

Congrats! If you really want to get off the waitlist, send the school a letter. You were waitlisted at some of the top schools and that's an accomplishment itself. Watch Nick Chae's video on how to get off the college waitlist. He was waitlisted at Princeton and he currently is a student there.

pol guro yeah but still very very unlikely if it would be very likely than everyone would be like super happy about a waitlist and no one ever is. They are only happy because it isn’t a rejection and it just makes you feel better

William & Mary is a FANTASTIC school! (I was a bit jet lagged in the video, but I was suuuuper excited!) I think in the essay for last year, they said that you could write anything. It was super free form. It was probably one of the hardest essays for me because I didn't know where to start. I guess my biggest advice is that if you aren't funny in real life, don't try to be funny in the essay! I almost tried too hard because one of the prompts was to make them laugh. It's super cliche, but be yourself! Also, applying to 19 is a good idea if you're good with writing essays quickly... but for me.... it was sooooooo hard! But I am actually glad I did it because I do like all the prompts.

Hey! I'm out of state and got into William and Mary around February w/ the James Monroe scholarship (had to withdraw from 1693 bc I had gotten in ED2 to WashU). My advice would be to stand out in your optional W&M essay by being super unique!

That's true. VT's med school is pretty good! But I applied to dental school and the only dental school in Virginia is at VCU.
