I’m a CC transfer student and I really want to get into UCLA or UCB. My school has a 25-30% acceptance rate for both but I still don’t know if I should just gamble aggressively or take honors classes and gamble safely.

for the act i just grinded a lot of practice tests & i also found khan academy’s sat prep helpful since it also has lessons & act/sat is all pretty similar, i would say for like English it really helps to really know your grammar rules/ understanding what the questions are looking for. as for aps i’m lucky that my classes were all really helpful but i personally like to read info so i liked reading my textbooks & self studying i got a textbook/ap prep book that really helped (lmk which ap you plan to self study and maybe i might have taken it & can give advice on what textbook to buy/obtain for free online lol) but it’s mostly important to set a strict schedule and follow it, like i did about a unit a week of review/relearning after doing it on khan academy in the summer leading up to my ap macro exam and it worked well for me (but ap macro is also a pretty easy class) khan academy is also great for aps with practice qs and vids imo

I wouldnt go to Texas or Calif, Im glad you pick Duke.

mostly the fact that they had a great program for my major, good work life balance and actually gave me a pretty generous financial aid package
