It certainly isn't for any purely military 'war strategy' .... Hamas has neither tanks or other heavy vehicles needing roads to move troops or military equipment along. What it does do, is make it more difficult for the humanitarian aid trucks, & ambulances to reach & help the civilians. Or civilians to easily flee along, slows them down to struggle over craters, rocks, shifting sand. Carrying their children & what meagre possessions they can in their arms - even for a donkey cart to traverse! Makes it more difficult for injured people, disabled in wheelchairs, the weak, elderly, pregnant women, those with newborns & toddlers. The deliberate, intentional nature of such wanton destruction is unbelievable & heartbreaking.
