    That turned out perfect. A little hammering and a little luck and you have a great display piece. Thanks for sharing, take care and be safe.

    Nothing wrong with a loose crystal, but I really like when it is still attached to a bit of the rock. I was lucky with this one. I though for sure near the end that I was going to lose it for sure.

    Would’ve a nice carbide tipped drill bit used to drill small holes along where You wanted to remove the host rock from, be a lot safer way of doing so instead of chiseling away as you did so? Also, eye protection buddy, eye protection. Maybe you did use them, and I just didn’t realize.

    I have not collected enough of them yet to consider sacrificing one to a tumble. For sure it would lose its cubic shape which would be a shame. I have dipped a few into muriatic to get a bright shine. That removes the patinena which others will argue should be maintained.

    why not use the tile saw first ? Then rough up the cuts with a steel brush or airscribe to make then look natural. I like to use tile nippers as well to clip of thinner pieces.

    I was not sure if other crystals were going to be inside the rock. If I sliced it, across a hidden crystal then that crystal would be kaput. Otherwise, your ideas are worth considering.

    Hi meMiner, I found one that was free from the rock, you have to have the eye. Mine is but a tiny thing but still a cube that is worth keeping in my collectables if I ever have to move it will be my rocks that will be the heaviest, lol

  • @meMiner

    @meMiner

    It used to be books that were so heavy to move. I'd hate to think what rocks I would have to take with me and the weight. It would be one trip at least and probably will break the truck. LOL

    @@meMiner Your collection must be huge, but you sure have some nice one's, as for books I got rid of mine, I got into the habit of once read out to the book bin store, we have a store where we can trade in our used books. I posted a link on one of your video's that will lead you to my google+ account, where you can view my rocks that I have found on a much smaller scale than yours.??? the moccasin rock is on view of profile.
