For people who say it's Kun and backup dancers: Go watch the collaboration stage of trainees with Lay from Idol Producer, Lay was the Center and the only one who wore red (while trainees wore blue) and no fans of the trainees complained. Kun gave the center of the second chorus to the trainees, it's not his fault that when he stood to the side, the camera still focused on him. He composed, produced and choreographed this song, as well as managed the stage set-up with water. Yet in this comment section, I don't really see the appreciation. Please respect him.

I was really shocked and disappointed by those who blamed KUN. If you saw the newest episode you will know that he did his best to make fair and gave trainees more chances to show themselves. And as PD he also did his best and did more then he needed. Trainees also said they learnt a lot from this collaboration stage and really thanked KUN. Why you only saw KUN I thought was because he really catched your eyes.😊 He performed so excellently. He was really hot and charming .I really fall in love with this UNRELEASED new song he wrote. You're deluded if we only saw him because he is eye catching. Of course he will stand out because he wore a very colorful shirt and all of the girls wore black. I want them to reshoot with more time and sell it in store . it must better a lot than this version. (this version so cool but imagin some thing more cooler when you have time to make it) be parted in this work it mean you can saw how the pro work with your eye. Honestly, Kun is so genuinely kind to the girls and I love this so much and that surprised me so much. I had no idea who he was before watching this show but he just oozes sincerity. People can go somewhere else to whine. Honestly, I know I'm repeating myself but I just adore him so much for giving encouraging words and telling the girls to eat and sleep. I would have expected the mentors to say suck it up or you're not suitable, and that was such a positive surprise for me. On another note, since I don't want to write 2 comments. Why is there no Lisa collab? I haven't caught up with the show and am currently at EP15 but I saw something about XIN being on Lisa's team so hopefully I'm assuming correctly that there's still one collab missing? Maybe someone would be so kind to enlighten me

He is the perfectionist, the strict one when it goes to song/music/performance and it approved by NINEPERCENT members as he was their leader and people who has worked with him. He literally put everything until the thing is perfect. For this stage collaboration he stayed late in studio recording to do an editing after trainees back home, brought dance teachers for training each member, arrange part so everyone have longer part. As Gia Ge said "he supposed to be liked by so many people".

this is why I cant wait for this show to be over tbh. I am grateful that he got so much love and positive feedback from it but at this point, its becoming more of a headache especially for us international fans who are stuck having to tolerate childish behaviour from kpop fans. Lots of people are commenting how this was the least like a collab. I agree since Kun as the center in bright colours makes the trainees look like backup dancers. But if you’ve seen the FULL ep then you would know that Kun distributed quite a few lines to the trainees as well as adding more so the trainees have equal time. He isn’t the one choosing the outfits or controlling how the camera is moving. Keep in mind that these are just fun stage performances and doesn’t require voting it’s for the trainees to gain experience. If you watched idol producer and their collabs then you would know how this works, blame the camera for keep zooming into Kuns face NOT Kuns fault:(

I hope youve seen the other stages too. Because people are comparing the stages (for this season only, not the other seasons) And it is only in this stage that the focus is more on the mentor. The line distribution (even after Kun giving up some lines) was primarily More on kun singing. Even on the adlibs, he has more of them. I dont hate Kun btw...

The same problem happened with Lay in Idol Producer where he was supposed to have a highlight part with Kun in their collaboration but it didn't make it in the final edit which was against his wish because that was supposed to be one of the highlights.

I feel so bad for the trainees who don't get so many screen times, but if you watch the episode you will realize KUN actually gave the dance break and the center part of the second chorus to the girls, he said he wanted to give them more opportunities to shine out. I don't know if you guys noticed, at the beginning of this performance you can see KUN wrote/ composed/ choreographed and arranged his new song, this is the first live stage of the new song. I know that the camerawork couldn't satisfy everyone, but please don't release your hate on him. Honestly, PD Kun is a loving and gentle man who takes really good care of every girl in this show. Rarely have I ever seen anyone so nice and considerate like him. This is a cooperation stage, meaning that each of them play the same position as one another. Now THIS looks like an actual collab stage. Kun should really do these kinds of sexy sensual concepts- it suits him more. Although I liked the other stages but I liked it way more than the other stages considering there was a stage with my bias lisa. Yeah . I think mainly because Lisa's main popularity and strength is focused on dancing while kun PD is an all rounder and a performer, which means he will always give a more complete stage . So it's also a disadvantage for Lisa that she is not there. And ofc I can see that this Collab stage put a little extra work(credits to kun PD).it is just the most harmonious performance . Like everyone was good while other performances. We can see trainees lacking than others. This one made them all shine and look good individually and as a group . 💛

Kun went out of his way to give more parts to his trainees and took a huge gamble by letting this be the debut stage for his new song (if the trainees had made a mistake in the performance then it might have killed the vibe of the song he spent time working on), he also designed the most dynamic stage and made sure each trainee had an individual dance tutor. This is all outside of having to first finish recording his new song, then teaching it to the trainees, planning the choreo, doing the stage design, and finally allocating their parts. He was definitely the hardest working mentor of all of them since he was the only one who A) Was there for the performance with the trainees and B) Also had a brand new song (Ella was the only other mentor to do this). It's not his fault that iQiyi decided to edit the footage to be this way.

No one is even mad a Kun... We’re mad that we’ve spent 2 months watching this program for the trainee we support to have such little screen time in the final performance. Do you know how damaging that is?!? I’m genuinely worried An Qi won’t debut after this because she was supposed to be the lead dancer yet she had one sentence in the song and about 10 seconds of screen time despite being a straight A trainee and ranked in the top 9 since the start. So yes... I am pissed tbh. Because if I’ve wasted 2 months watching a program for my trainee to miss the debut team because shitty editing then I have every right to complain.

Most of the trainees already have a stable Chinese fanbase, this collab purpose is only to give them more exposure to the people who don't watch the show but they know Kun. This stage was supposed to be for fun because they most likely won't get any chance like this in the future.

If anything, it has brought An Qi and the other trainees exposure to people who are not even watching the show. I adore An Qi and she is one of my top picks but she will be fine. Shes almost guaranteed a spot in the final line up.

I'm not Kun's fan & I didn't watch season 1. But Kun absolutely bodied this performance. Kun tried so much to give the girls their own parts to shine while still maintaining this as a collaboration, but the brightest one here is still Kun. Make no mistake, the girls all did great. But man, Kun is indeed "so dangerous". He swallows other people whole when on stage. Now i understand why he won season 1 & became so respected.

Who need Charlie's Angels when you have Kun's Angels? Kun and girls are so incredibly sexy... Are they even human? Their stage presence is no joke! Kun did really good to arrange the whole thing, so did the girls for kill the performance.. Definitely the best stage for collaboration mission..

My favourite thing about this song is that bit when Xinwen Xu saw Lingzi has a moment when she dances with Kun, and she laughed at her knowing how hard and intimidating that mist be - and only then found out she herself had a much longer and closer dance with him 😆😆

The trainees work hard but Kun work even harder to be where he is today. I dont think we have any rights to say he dont deserve that few moments of screentime. If you compare this team to the other teams of this episode excluding lisa and yes ok team first, Kun’s group actually is quite fair. He also gave Eliwa and Gia Ge their moments which both girls dont usually get. If you actually watch the whole episode, he actually put in a lot of hardwork for this so ya. Im not a fan of him. Im saying this as a Youth With You viewer. This guy is very hardworking and dedicated to helping these trainees in the show. He deserves his screentime and Im sure his fans would love it too. The girls also got their spotlights too. I dont see any problems. And I finally see more people complimenting An Qi in the comments. Yes pls she deserves it. She better be in top 9 for real.

Please you don't know how hard trainees work, you can't say that they don't work as hard as Kun. I agree with you the line was quite fair. But his clothes.. Really? It's obvious that we won't concentrate on the girls. It didn't look like a collaboration stage, it was more like a Kun stage with more attractive and talented back up dancers.

Horus MMB HAVE YOU SEEN THE FULL EPISODE? He tried his best to give trainees the most screen time and part, it’s the same with youth with you season 1 AND idol producer. They are the mentor and in every single season the mentor gets the most. In addition, KUN doesn’t control the clothes bruh. Do you see any idol producer fans complaining about camera time and outfits? No. We were just grateful that they got to work with a mentor that they respect and admire and I think you should do the same 🥺☺️🙂🤷‍♀️

Horus MMB When Cai Xukun did the collab stage with Lay Zhang, Lay was the only one wearing red as well. And I stayed away from watching the whole video at first because of all the comments about him outshining everyone else, but when I actually watched it, I really don’t see it? Sure he’s wearing different clothes, but he’s really not constantly on the screen. And anyone who watches this show already knows the girls and how talented and skilled they are. I’m glad Kun is getting a chance to shine too because YWWY fans sometimes forget the other mentors besides Lisa. While the trainees may have been more like back-up dancers at the start of the video, they still took charge of the screen after.

Does anyone notice Anqi’s high heels? She is AMAZING that she wears such high heel shoes and dances in the water. Some people complains about her height and says she is too short to be a girls group, she just kicked these hater’s face by using her high heels

I can't believe people are saying xukun greedy here. Everyone who watch the show knows how much he has devoted to this show. On Chinese platform no one is complaining screentime, all the trainees and their fans are grateful to him. (edit)I mean after watching I remember kiki's voice at beginning, an qi center for second hook, xinwen and lingzi interact with xukun, gia and eliwa dance in water. Every girl is shining. It's not about screentime, some girls in other group may have more screentime but people cannot remember what they did after watching. It's like every stage if the girl chooses to join in an excellent group she might win extra vote as a group member but at the same time lose light to more talented person in her group. Cai xukun catches my eyes immediately when he started singing. This is the best collab stage to me.

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years, this song is so beautiful

Out of all the performances this collab looks the most different. While the others look like a concert performances this video is like an MV dance version. Yes it's true the screentime of the girls was short but tbh the girls in here have the most memorable screentime compared to the other girls. Like each of them really had a moment that shines them individually. And I thinks it's not about the clothes that made Kun standout because Silence Wang and Ella has different color with the girls also. It's just that his stage presence was so GREAAATTT.

I know. I'm a fan of Lisa's group as a whole because it has a lot of my faves in it but this one was executed so much better than the rest. The song and the dancers did an excellent job. Not that the other groups didn't, but this one just stuck out more. Lisa's song wasn't done much of a justice mostly because the english lyrics in the song were immature or didn't make sense due to the way they were sung ( not hating on Lu Keran or Jenny Zheng ). It was probably the most lacking performance of the rest of them- the rest being It's OK, Goodnight Song, Not to Guess, Lover, and Never Give Up. They _did_ , however, work hard due to aweful scheduling, yes, and yet the dance was just them waving their arms in uncomfortable looking stilettos. I feel like IQIYI purposefully gave them a lesser performance because they knew Lisa, AND Liu Yuxin were in the same group. Just so that the others could shine brighter. They DO delete comments praising Yuxin and Lisa often.. Sorry for the essay- I had a lot of ideas to spew.

But you have to admit. Lisa polished most of the girls. Set their mindsets to have a certain standard of discipline and doing dance moves perfectly. You could say that one of the reasons they dance great today is because Lisa trained them strictly. Imagine them dancing without having passed through LISA. Simply not the same

Kun: serving us visual, vocal, rap and everything nines could every ask for. Kiki: killing us with her expressions and light voice. Eliwa: cute and pure vocal but slayed this stage hard. Xinwen: Don’t even need to say anything but one of the most talented vocals out there. An qi: amazing as always shining everywhere she goes. Lingzhi: our beautiful swan slayed her rap with kun. Gia: literally so captivating she suits this song so much. This song is literally dangerous everyone did so amazing, the presence, aura, vocal, rap and visual are on another level!!

Kun is definitely the KING when he's on the stage; he has an incredible stage presence. Some people might be complaining about how the trainees get "not much screen time", but please remember this is a collaboration stage, and basically a bonus stage for every trainee; PD KUN shines whenever he's on the stage. And he did already give a lot of opportunities out to the trainees if you watch the whole episode: he gave the second part center to Eliwa and he also gives Lingzi the rap part; he also wrote two additionals parts just for the trainees to have more screen time; just be grateful for this opportunity when the trainees have the chance to work with KUN on his unreleased song "LOVER" - YES, this song hasn't yet even released and it was the first time where everyone has the chance to listen to KUN's new original song

Take note everyone! Kun did not participate in the process of this video- meaning it's up to iQIYI who gets more of the screentime. Also, stylists are assigned with their outfits- it's normal for the PD or Mentors to be given an outfit that stands out more. Just go watch other collab performances like Lay Zhang in Idol Producer. [Edit] for those people who haven't watch the episode yet, please do. You'll see Kun equally distributing the lines just to give them more spotlight and even did more so that they'll stand out.

This was my favourite collaboration. The song, the dance and all the trainees shined. Kun really did the best😭

KUN has put in so much effort into this song, and the trainees. For those who are complaining, cant ur see that he given the trainees so many extra parts and scenes which he can choose not to. What's the complaint abt???? I was expecting more scenes of Kun, but he gives more parts to the trainees. Are ur expecting that the stage is all trainees????? This is a collaboration stage between the mentor and the trainee, not their usual stage!! Kun put so much hard work into this, and he even let the trainer performer a new song, and he works so hard to put all the things out. He cares so much for the trainees, he even invites dancers to teach the trainee's one by one and ur are complaining abt him. He did so much than what he should do! And ur are complaining abt this 21 years old boy. My god, ur ppl are terrible!

So everyone's telling how Kun outshined his members for this collab. Come on!, the guy is a walking charisma with damn stage presence. Whether he stays front, at the side, or back, he'll definitely be getting attention...Don't blame his shirt coz even if he wears black, nothing will change still. You know he equally distributed lines for the girls, he's been extra for this collab - composing a new song, getting dancers/ trainers for each girls. He did extra effort and tried being fair. But iQIYI is incharge of the editing... So I rest my case with this.

@@leonjazren3527 he did "tone it down"..... he gave the centers for so many parts to the trainees and even extended the bridge so that the two trainees (eliwa and gia) who had considerably less distribution could be front and center longer. also cai xukun is always going to put 200% into his stages, to not do so would be against his own values as an artist/performer. if he did "outshine" the trainees, that just shows how much charisma he has on stage and like OP said, even if he wore all black he'd still catch many people's eyes because of how well he delivers the performance. in my opnion, that is something important that i hope all trainees could learn through him - professionalism and stage presence

Her voice matches this song so much :) She works so hard to make herself better, and I’m so glad that her hard work pays off. I appreciate KUN' s hard work. He worked longer than everyone for this song. He also took care about all trainees. He added 8 beats to make all trainees have equal parts and more time to perform in center.

For those who said "Kun and his dancers", should not you confess that you were attracted by his appearance and moves on the stage more than anyone else and that you could not take your eyes off of him for every second, then you lied to yourself by those reasons to blame all on Kun instead of blaming on you? Please all blame should be on you, yourself!

Before you peeps complain about KUN taking too much screen time which he CAN'T CONTROL, watch the full episode before complaining. He make sure everyone has a longer part, he did demo overnight so that the trainees can listen to it and sing, he get every trainees one dance teacher for each of them, he stayed up later than them to make sure they have a complete and perfect performance. If you say his shirt stands out, please reevaluate that. Even if he wear black outfit, he will still be eye catching. Other mentors wears different outfit colour too so why are you coming at kun only?Watch the whole thing before judging anyone and anything.

I agree! The other mentors did have slightly more similar color schemes with the girls though. It would be nice if Kun had just a black shirt, maybe with some lace detail or something, it looked a little weird for the dance parts when he wasn't in the center. But the outfit was probably out of his control anyway. I have a feeling looking at the clips from Lisa's group performance, that their color scheme was also black so maybe they just did that set the groups apart...

Jessica Andrews A balanced color scheme is more than just similar colors. The black dress with details are perfect for the ladies, highlighting their sexiness and elegance. Kun matched their outfit by wearing a pair of black pants. With the simple water feel background, his patterned shirt echos the changing color of the stage lights. The whole picture is beautifully balanced without being dull. As Kun once said that he likes to design every single details of a stage, including lightings. And I really think that ppl should learn to appreciate a performance as a whole. After all, this is a collab stage for the trainees to have fun with their chosen mentor and Kun had definitely put in the most effort. As far as I know, the trainees were happy.

For those complaining about the screen time unfairness, I bet you don’t know much about Cai XuKun. It’s the first time the song “Lover” is being performed, and that’s a very big deal in China since Kun is one of the top selling artists. Furthermore, he made sure each of the girls had their own solo part so that they could shine. When you watch this performance, your eyes will automatically acknowledge everyone, not just Kun.
